The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 369

Megan easily read the thoughts running through Tyler's mind. He was only interested in profiting from the road construction and street light installation.

But Megan couldn't care less about that. To her, it was all just a ploy to win over Nolan's parents. Who earned the money or the quality of the roads didn't matter to her. She simply didn't care.

"Sure, if you have the heart for it, then it'll be great. I heard Tyler is the security manager now at the Village Enterprise. With some training, you could become a general manager easily."

Tyler flashed her a grin and eagerly asked, "Do you agree? That's fantastic. I've always felt like my talents were going to waste. And with your input, our village enterprise will definitely take notice.

"After all, you've invested in this business with Nolan and still have shares, so your opinion carries weight."

Megan grinned and nodded. "Don't fret, Tyler. I've got it covered."

Just then, her phone rang. Upon seeing Nolan's name on the caller ID, she smiled and said, "Wayne, Melody, you two can relax. I'm going to take this call."

She retreated to her room and answered Nolan's call, "Hey dear, when are you coming back? Wayne and Melody are getting antsy waiting for you."

Megan's voice grated on Nolan's already sour mood.

"Megan, I know you have thoughts, but I admire your boldness in trying to manipulate my family."

"Tell me, what are your intentions?"

Upon hearing this, Megan smiled and said, "I don't have any intentions at all. I just regretted it and don't want to divorce you anymore. But I feared you wouldn't forgive me, so I invited Wayne and Melody here."

With that, Megan was about to leave. It was clear from her disheveled appearance that she had been wronged.

This sparked a surge of fury in Wayne, who bellowed, "Who was on the phone? Was it Nolan, that bastard? I'll make him pay when I get my hands on him."

Megan left immediately without saying a word, looking visibly upset. As she left, a sneer formed on her lips. "You can't outsmart me in this game, Nolan."

Megan spun around, giving the villa a contemptuous look as she scoffed, "All these leeches. If you weren't still useful to me, I would never even consider letting you inside."

Wayne, Melody, and the others would be shocked if they saw Megan's appearance right now. Was this the same Megan they knew, with such a sly and devious expression on her face?
