The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 357

The call was quickly connected. At this point, Jeanne was so nervous that her forehead was covered with beads of sweat.

"Hello. Nolan told me to call this number."

Before Jeanne could even introduce herself, a warm and elegant voice came through the phone. "Jeanne, right?"

Jeanne was stunned for a moment and quickly replied, "Yes. You know who I am?"

A light chuckle came from the other end.

"Of course. I've been waiting for your call, but unfortunately, you've called too late. So, you've already missed your chance.

"I apologize, but if there's nothing else, I'll hang up now. By the way, don't call this number again. It won't work in the future."

These words made Jeanne feel light-headed. Too late?

Indeed, it was too late. It had been a while since Nolan had given her this number. Moreover, he had hinted during the birthday party that she had missed her chance to call the number.

However, Jeanne couldn't accept this outcome.

"May I ask who you are? Are you people playing tricks on me? You claimed that you could give me a chance to shine, only to dismiss me with some excuse? Is this some kind of joke?"

Jeanne was unwilling to accept that she had missed out on a good opportunity. She would rather convince herself that Nolan had lied to her.

Seeing how crazy people had gotten over the Spirit of Life Serum, she knew that having agency rights and distribution rights for it would skyrocket her status in Bellington, turning her into a big shot. It would truly allow her to soar to great heights!

The more she thought about it, the more excruciating the pain became.

"No! No way! How could you be the CEO of Myth Group? You're lying to me. There's no way Nolan could know someone of your status. You must be lying to me."

On the other end of the line, it was no other than Four Eyes. He chuckled and said, "If you think I'm lying, then so be it. Goodbye."

Upon hearing that Four Eyes was about to hang up, Jeanne almost lost her sanity.

"No, please! Don't hang up. Give me another chance. I was just a bit late in calling you, but I didn't mean to! Please, give me one more chance."
