The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 281

At this moment, Shaun stared at Nolan and said arrogantly, "Nolan said I was unfaithful, unfilial, and vicious. That was nonsense.

"My family treated Nolan nicely and cherished our relationship with him. What happened in the end? He's too arrogant!

"Everyone should be aware that my dad stepped down from his position because he was tired. It wasn't because of other reasons. Lincoln also supported me. Everyone acknowledges my role as the head of the family and has no issues with it.

"If not, my dad and Lincoln will never let me go. I'm sure everyone agrees with this, right?

"But now, Nolan is making up stories about my relationship with my dad. This is too much! Where's Lincoln? If everyone still doesn't believe this, I can tell Lincoln to prove it. I think all of you trust Lincoln, right?"

Shaun spoke seriously and made himself look like a victim being hurt by Nolan. He even mentioned Archie and Lincoln, wanting the latter to prove that he had gotten his position through the right means without conspiracy.

It was the truth. No one would suspect Shaun if Lincoln said something.

Even if the people suspected anything, there was nothing they could do. Everyone knew that Lincoln was close to Archie. Anyone would betray the Baxter family but not Lincoln. It was a fact known by all.

Nolan watched as Shaun explained himself and chuckled. "Yeah. The truth doesn't matter actually. But it's easy if we really want to get to the bottom of things.

"Wouldn't everything be clear if we could have Mr. Archie explain this? He only needs to say that he handed over the role to you willingly. Everything will be clear by then, right?

"Mr. Baxter, can Mr. Archie come though? I'm sure he cares a lot about his son's innocence."

"Yeah. I can have Lincoln here to prove it. What if Lincoln says my dad handed the position to me of his own will? What should I do with you accusing me then?"

Nolan heard him and shrugged. He spread his arms and smiled. "Mr. Baxter, you may do anything as you please, as long as you're happy."

His words made Shaun's eyes shine. Shaun laughed and replied, "Okay. In that case, I won't go easy on you.

"Nolan, if Lincoln can prove that I'm the head of the family, as acknowledged by my dad personally, I won't hurt you. But I want you to remove all your clothes and crawl around the hall for two rounds in front of everyone!

"What do you think? Isn't this reasonable? You accused me of bowing down to the enemy and being unfaithful and unfilial. Crawling two rounds and barking like a dog isn't too much to ask, right?"
