The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 252

With Nolan's command, Scarlet swiftly left.

It felt like, from the moment Scarlet arrived, a storm had come to Bellington and the entire Eastern State.

"Smitty, let's get going. We can't have you making mistakes in front of Shaun now, can we?" Nolan smiled, noticing Smitty's blank expression.

Upon hearing this, Smitty forced a wry smile, pleading, "Mr. Greene, please have mercy on me. I'm terrified."

Nolan merely smiled. "Alright then. Let's go."

Smitty quickly adopted the role of a dutiful guard and escorted Nolan downstairs. Together with about a dozen men in three vehicles, they made their way to the hotel.

To those who didn't know, it looked like an entourage for Nolan. But at this point, even Smitty and his men were unclear whether they were meant to be watching Nolan or protecting him. One thing, however, was certain—they wouldn't dare to cross him.

At that moment, in a small banquet hall in Norwich Hotel, the room had been meticulously decorated. The atmosphere was youthful, yet elegant and dignified.

George looked around approvingly and smiled. "Norwich Hotel's banquet hall isn't easy to book. This is all thanks to Mr. Baxter. It was very thoughtful of him."

Kara's words had a clear implication.

"I know what I'm doing. You don't need to worry about me. But even though Shaun and I are officially in a relationship, it's not like we're married yet. Don't think too much."

Kara laughed lightly. "You're not married yet, but it's only a matter of time. After all, who in Bellington would dare to compete to be Mr. Shaun Baxter's girlfriend?

"By the way, Audrey, your jewelry set may be fake, but it looks incredibly real. It's so dazzling and exquisite! After you've used it to humiliate Nolan, you should ask him where he bought it. The craftsmanship is amazing. I'd like to find the artist myself to have some pieces made."
