The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 245

"What are you talking about? Are you saying that once your father is starving enough, he'll just feed himself?

"You're such an asshole! Do you even have the slightest understanding of your father? Do you not know his character or temperament at all?

"Your father built the Baxter family from scratch, never bowing down nor compromising. He is a man of his word. When he says he won't eat, do you think he's joking?

"No. You're coming with me right now to apologize to him. You'll only come back when he agrees to eat."

With that, Lincoln grabbed Shaun's arm, wanting to pull him toward the villa in the suburbs to see Archie.

But Shaun yanked his arm away, frowning. "Lincoln, I still have important matters to take care of today. How about this—I'll go visit him after I'm done. That should be fine, right?"

Upon hearing this, Lincoln pointed at Shaun's formal attire with a sneer. "The important matter you're referring to is attending some banquet? Shaun, do you really think that just because you're the family head now, no one can discipline you?

"Let me tell you, if anything happens to your father, I won't forgive you. Do you understand?"

Lincoln's threat made Shaun's heart pound.

At this moment, Ironhead slowly got up and glared coldly at Lincoln. "Is this how undisciplined the Baxter family is? The dignified head of the family can just be threatened and pushed around by anyone?

"If that's the case, I think it's time to report this to Gregory and have us send someone to take over."

As soon as the words fell, Shaun and Lincoln's expressions changed instantly.

Ironhead's grip tightened, the force powerful enough to almost break Lincoln's neck. Shaun watched this scene in horror, on the verge of tears.

"Mr. Ironhead, don't! If you kill Lincoln, there will be consequences. Please, don't do this!"

Lincoln, on the other hand, was struggling with bloodshot eyes but showed no intention of begging for mercy, only seething with hatred and burning rage!

After all, he was older and didn't rely on violence to win. Moreover, his strength was nothing compared to Ironhead, one of Gregory's top soldiers.

But he wouldn't give in. He simply wouldn't! Amidst his indignation, he felt an overwhelming sense of sorrow.
