Archie turned to Lincoln and told him to chase Shaun away.
However, what happened next only disappointed him.
Lincoln slowly stood up and turned to him. "Mr. Baxter, Mr. Shaun might be rude, but he's doing everything for the Baxter family. Why don't you reconsider it?"
Then, Lincoln turned to Shaun and said coldly, "Mr. Shaun, Mr. Baxter is still your dad. Do you think it was right for you to talk to him like that?"
Shaun bowed slightly and said, "Lincoln, I know that I've disappointed Dad, but I just want what's best for the family. So, I have to take over the Baxters while there's still a chance to save everyone from the mess.
"Since Dad has made a mistake this time, I have to point it out. If he wants to blame me for it, I'll just ask for his forgiveness after the crisis is over. When the time comes, I'll willingly kneel for a whole night if he wants me to."
When Lincoln heard that, he sighed and shook his head. Then, he turned to Archie, "Mr. Baxter, what Mr. Shaun has said does make sense."
Archie was stunned. He looked at Lincoln and said, "Lincoln, do you hear yourself right now? Are you seriously taking sides with this ungrateful brat?"
Suddenly, he remembered something and said angrily, "So, this is why you asked me what I planned to do after I retired. You even said things like enjoying retirement with me.
He said, "So, you're still standing on his side, aren't you? Alright, I want to know how he managed to persuade you. So what if he becomes the head of the family? After all, the conflict between Gregory and I can never be resolved now. Is he going to let us go just because I'm not the head anymore?"
Suddenly, Shaun said gently, "Don't worry, Dad. If you agree to let me take over, I can handle everything. Godfather won't make things hard for the Baxters anymore."
When Archie heard Shaun mentioning a godfather, he was confused.
When he figured out what Shaun meant, he became so enraged that his eyes turned red.
