The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 182

"You're lying. Why would Mr. Lynch target Nolan? There's no grudges between them," Audrey said.

Shaun instantly laughed at her reply and said, "That's right. Why would there be any grudges between Mr. Lynch and Nolan? What kind of person is Mr. Lynch? Nolan is merely someone insignificant, and he is nothing compared to Mr. Lynch. No one cares even if he gets killed.

"What I said was true. Three killers came indeed. Besides, it was related to you."

Audrey was startled to hear that. She wondered why it was related to her. "What do you mean?"

Shaun sneered and questioned, "Did you forget about your engagement with someone? Who did Nolan offend because of you? Did you forget about what happened to the Thompson family so quickly?"

Audrey's face grew grimmer when she heard that. She probably knew nothing about the rest, but she was certainly clear about what had happened to the Thompson family.

Nolan had tortured Nicholas terribly because of Audrey. He had even humiliated Robert. They would definitely hold a grudge against him till their last breath.

However, Audrey thought everything had been resolved. Besides, the Baxter family had even stepped in.

At this moment, Audrey stared at Shaun and finally accepted that what he had said was real.

"Why was the Thompson family related to Mr. Lynch? Did the Thompsons look for Mr. Lynch? Was that why he sent killers to take Nolan's life?" Audrey asked.

Shaun nodded and said, "You're right. This is the truth.

Audrey couldn't help but start begging Shaun. Given the current situation, it seemed like only the Baxters could keep Nolan safe.

That was exactly what Shaun had wanted. He looked at Audrey and said softly, "Nolan's medical skills are great indeed, but his skills mean nothing if the Baxter family is gone.

"Audrey, you can't even convince me for this reason, let alone the entire Baxter family.

"Unless there's something worth celebrating and related to me. Maybe I can still find an excuse to help Nolan. But it isn't easy to find an excuse like this.

"Audrey, if you can be with me, I'm willing to do anything and risk my life to save Nolan. Would you like that though?"
