The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 133

"Mr. Baxter, I'm only here for one thing today. Please don't interfere with the matter between me and Nolan. I know you're friends with him. However, one of us has to die this time. So, I hope you can understand," said Robert.

When Archie heard that, he looked upset. He thought that Robert was disrespecting him. He couldn't believe he would go all the way there to tell him about this.

Archie wondered if this was considered a threat. "Are you threatening me, Mr. Thompson? Since you know our relationship with Nolan and how we're grateful to him, you're disrespecting me by saying what you've said."

Robert chuckled coldly and shook his head. "Mr. Baxter, I've lost my son and everything else, so nothing matters to me anymore. However, I'm not disrespecting you. This is why I took the initiative to come here.

"I wanted to tell you in advance that I'm going to make my move soon, so don't do anything stupid. Of course, I know I have no right to tell you this. So, please answer this call."

Robert took out a phone and passed it to Archie. He said softly, "Please answer this call, Mr. Baxter."

Archie frowned and accepted the phone. "This is Archie speaking. Who's this?"

No one could hear what was being said through the phone, but Archie looked serious and upset afterward.

He responded, "Oh, Mr. Lynch, it's you! Listen to me, Nolan… Alright, I understand. See you."

"Nolan won't be that difficult to kill, Mr. Thompson. Mr. Lynch might be able to deal with anyone he wants, but a lot of them will never let you go. Do you understand?" That was all Archie could say at that moment.

However, Robert just scoffed and stood up. "As long as Nolan dies, I won't care about anything else! I've told you everything, Mr. Baxter. You should also understand what Mr. Lynch wants from you. So, just watch yourself from now on."

After he was done speaking, he left the room.

Archie just sat on the couch and lit up a cigarette. As the smoke clouded his face, it gradually contorted in anger.
