The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 906

The call connected and his brow instantly creased. “Anthony, Charlotte, it’s the Blair Estate. They just called. Patricia… she’s not doing well.”

“What? Grandma’s not doing well?”

Andrew’s face drained of color. “She was fine when I left. She was worried Charlotte might get hungry and even told me to pack food for her.”

Charlotte’s fingers shook and she felt like her blood had frozen. The chill spread through her whole body.

“Step on it!” Anthony’s hand found Charlotte’s, his voice sharp and urgent.

“Yes, sir!” Hans pressed the accelerator, but traffic was thick as they hit the city. He couldn’t go any faster without risking it.

Anthony’s expression turned colder. He reached over, pulled Hans out of the driver’s seat, and was about to take over when Charlotte beat him to it. She moved quickly, sliding into the driver’s seat in one smooth motion.

Her foot slammed on the gas, both hands steady on the wheel, her eyes clear and focused, but hard with resolve.

Hans scrambled into the back, leaving Anthony in the passenger seat.

“Hold on,” Charlotte warned.

“Huh?”

Before Andrew and Hans could react, the car surged forward, tires squealing. The rush of wind swallowed their shouts from the back.

Anthony glanced over his shoulder, unimpressed. “Pathetic,” he muttered.

A trip that should’ve taken half an hour was done in just over ten minutes.

The car barely stopped before Hans and Andrew bolted out, holding onto a trash can and vomiting.

Charlotte cut the engine, grabbed the medical kit, and headed straight for Patricia’s place.

She’d barely gotten a few steps when Anthony caught up, taking the kit from her and reaching for her hand. His voice was gentle. “Don’t worry. Grandma’s going to be okay.”
