“You’ve got fifteen minutes. If I don’t see my person by then, the presidential palace goes up in smoke.”
Franco scoffed. “You’d risk the entire X Organization for one person? That’s insane.”
He knew exactly how much God had sacrificed to build X Organization. Seriously, if Anthony attacked the presidential palace, did he really think X Organization would just walk away untouched?
“Ten X Organizations aren’t worth her,” Anthony said with a cold, steady voice. “Franco, enough talking. Let her go.”
Charlotte’s eyelashes fluttered. She squinted at Anthony, her curiosity clearly piqued.
“You’re the one who needs to shut up. If you don’t leave right now, you’re not making it out of this palace alive.”
Franco’s patience was gone. As he spoke, he pulled out his gun. The sound of the bullet being chambered echoed through the hall.
Just then, a soft, lazy voice broke through the tension.
“What are you guys doing?”
Anthony and Franco spun around at the same time. The moment they saw Charlotte, both rushed toward her. Anthony, being younger and quicker, got there first. He grabbed her arm and pulled her close.
Without waiting for her to speak, he held her by the shoulders and looked her over, his voice low and tense. “Did Franco do anything to you? Are you hurt?”
“No.”
Charlotte blinked, just about to say more when Franco butted in.
“Charlotte, come here. That man is no good for you.”
No good? Charlotte stared at Franco, totally confused.
“He’s cheating on you. He’s got another woman outside.”
