“Charlotte, I think that’s Sunlight.”
Charlotte heard the name and looked up, barely glancing at Sunlight in the back seat. He was completely focused on his papers, head down, lost in whatever medical files he was reading.
Honestly, she considered Sunlight one of the top doctors around. If even he couldn’t help, then Franco’s wife was in real trouble.

At the main hall of the presidential residence, Sunlight’s car pulled up and stopped. He got out quickly, looking tense.
“I heard Mrs. Hawk isn’t well. Has her condition gotten any better?”
He’d been headed to the medical conference when he received the call from the presidential residence. Without hesitation, he canceled his plans and came straight here.
“Mr. Hawk is waiting inside. This way, please.”
As Sunlight approached, the guards and nurses at the door exchanged glances. Everyone knew about his reputation. People said his skills were second only to Asclepius. Maybe Mrs. Hawk finally had a chance.
Sunlight picked up on the whispers from the maids at the entrance. His brow tightened, and an annoyed smirk appeared on his lips. Sure, Asclepius used to be the best. But things had changed. If he could cure Franco’s wife, the whole ranking would shift.
“Alright.”
He nodded and was about to head inside when something caught his eye. There were several vials of medicine on a table nearby. His eyes immediately lit up.
He’d been at the auction and had watched the chaos as people fought over these exact medicines. If he remembered right, Black had bought all of them. So how did they end up here at the presidential residence?
“What’s going on…” Sunlight paused, turning to the butler. “Did Black from the auction come by?”
Looking at the medicines, Sunlight’s lips curled into a subtle smile, admiration flashing in his eyes. He was getting more interested in this talented, brave young woman.
He pulled out his phone and called his assistant. “Add one more spot for today’s academic conference.”
“But sir, with Kingswood University’s current ranking, they don’t qualify.”
Sunlight’s voice turned sharp, but he couldn’t stop smiling. “You don’t get it. With Black on their side, Kingswood University is going to rise. It’s just a matter of time.”
And soon enough, that girl was going to be his student.
He couldn’t wait to see her face when she realized she’d be seeing him at the conference.
