The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 836

“Yes.” Franco nodded. “She always feels better when someone visits. I’m sure seeing you will lift her spirits and maybe even help her get a little better.”

Charlotte didn’t say anything for a moment.

Franco’s wife had a strange taste, that much was obvious, but there was no mistaking how much Franco cared about her.

After hearing him out, Anthony’s dark expression finally eased a bit. He glanced down at Charlotte, who was watching the butler’s hands with the medicine. He knew exactly what was on her mind.

Charlotte had always had a soft spot for people who were genuine and warm.

“Alright.”

She took the medicine from the butler, agreeing to Franco’s request. Since they were already here, she figured she might as well see for herself what kind of illness could drag on for so many years without a cure.

With Charlotte agreeing, Anthony had no reason to object.

“Thank you,” Franco said quietly, nodding.

“Also…” Charlotte pressed her lips together, then asked with a straight face, “You mentioned earlier you’d pay me back for the medicine. Does that still count?”

Franco paused, surprised, then smiled with a hint of amusement. “Of course.”

“Great.” Charlotte nodded, her expression serious as she slowly pulled out her phone. “Let’s do the transfer now.”

Franco didn’t even try to hide his exasperation.

Two minutes later, with a stormy look, Franco sent Charlotte 1.2 billion.

Charlotte immediately sent 30 million back.

The medicine had cost 1.17 billion, not a penny more.

“A deal is a deal.” Charlotte tossed her phone into her bag and lifted her chin. “I’m not the type to take advantage.”

Jackson and Adonis could only stare.

And that wasn’t taking advantage?

If Franco ever found out that one of the drugs he’d just paid 80 million for was actually only worth 2 million, he’d probably blow a fuse.

When the disinfecting was finished, the butler led them to the inner rooms.

They walked down a hallway lined with blooming roses, the walls alive with color and fragrance.

“Mrs. Hawk loves roses,” the butler explained quietly when he saw Charlotte looking around. “Franco had them planted all over the castle for her.”

“Oh.” Charlotte plucked a rose as she walked, gently rolling it between her fingers. The soft petals seemed to put her in a good mood.

“You like them?” Anthony asked, keeping his voice low as he watched her.

Charlotte twirled the flower and smiled. “Yeah, they’re nice.”

Anthony brushed his hand over her hair.

It wasn’t often she took a liking to flowers. He’d have to plant some for her at home.

A couple of minutes later, the butler stopped and spoke respectfully. “This is Mrs. Hawk’s room.”
