The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 814

“Is something wrong, Franco?”

The man beside him stopped too, following Franco’s gaze, but didn’t notice anything unusual.

“It’s nothing.”

Franco pulled his eyes away, his usual warmth disappearing so fast you’d wonder if it had ever been there at all.

He just thought that girl looked a bit like his wife, that’s all.

“Has Sunlight arrived yet?” Franco asked, his tone cool and all business again.

His subordinate didn’t even blink. Unless Franco was with his wife, his face was always this unreadable.

“He’s on his way, Franco.” The man nodded respectfully and pointed to a private booth upstairs.

“Alright.”

Franco gave a short reply, his face perfectly calm as he leaned on his cane and walked on.

Over the years, he’d searched for every so-called miracle doctor he could find, hoping someone would finally cure her. None of them had come close.

He couldn’t track down Asclepius, so he settled for Sunlight, who was just as famous and respected in his field.

He could only hope this time would be different.

Once Franco left, the VIP entrance opened again.

Sunlight, dressed to the nines, followed the staff slowly toward the second floor.

Half an hour later, the auction began.

The room was packed with top doctors and researchers from all over the world. There were less than thirty items up for auction, but every single one could shake up the medical world.

When the host’s voice echoed through the hall, Charlotte finally looked up from her tablet, her attention shifting to the stage.

The first drug was for bone marrow treatment.

It had barely hit the auction block before the price jumped to ten million.

Anthony tapped his long fingers on the table, eyes on the screen. He turned to Charlotte. “Want this one?”

“No.”

Twenty million.

“Classic Franco. He never says much, but when he does, nobody dares to compete.”

That price was a warning to everyone else. He wanted it. End of story.

With his reputation, no one wanted to cross him.

The room went quiet. No one else offered a bid.

“Anthony, Charlotte, should we try anyway?” Adonis whispered, holding the bidding device like it might bite. “If we go against Franco, will he get mad?”

Charlotte shot him a look. “And you think I’ll be happy if I don’t get what I want?”

The three guys shrank back, instantly quiet.

This was one of the drugs Charlotte had to have. No way was she letting it slip by.

Anthony couldn’t help but smile at her stubbornness. He reached over, ruffled her hair, and said in a low voice, “Go for it.”

If she wanted it, he’d get it for her, no matter what it cost. Even if it meant reaching for the stars.
