The people in front of her were just too tall. No matter how much Shirley tried to jump, she couldn’t see a thing.
Andrew noticed and let out a sigh. He stepped over, put his hands on her waist, and easily lifted her up.
“Ah!” Shirley let out a startled squeak, her hands flying up to clutch his hair for balance. Her lashes trembled like butterfly wings.
“Shirley, let go. Seriously, you’re about to rip my hair out.”
She blinked at him, confused, a soft blush blooming across her cheeks. It made her look even cuter.
“Why are you looking at me? Look for the exit.” Andrew’s tone was teasing, but he held her steady, making sure she was safe. “See Charlotte anywhere?”
“Not yet.” Shirley turned bashful, gaze dropping. Her voice was barely above a whisper. “Maybe it’ll be a little while. You can put me down.”
“Alright.” Andrew let her down gently, making sure she landed on her feet.
He flexed his hands and pretended to complain. “You look so skinny, but…”
He reached out and pinched her cheek, ready with some teasing remark. The second his fingers brushed her skin, he paused. Her face was unbelievably soft and smooth.
He found himself staring, eyes drifting to her lips, which were a perfect shade of pink. Those lips…
Catching himself, Andrew cleared his throat, trying to act casual. “You’re heavier than you look.”
“You’re the heavy one!” Shirley shot back, cheeks even redder now. She slapped his hand away and darted over to Stella, shooting Andrew a glare.
Andrew didn’t mind. Honestly, Shirley was getting cuter by the second.

Outside, after getting off the plane, Anthony slipped a coat over Charlotte’s shoulders.
“There are a bunch of fans waiting for you at the entrance. Andrew and the others are there too,” he said. “I’ll just stay back.”
He gently fixed her hair, his eyes lingering on her bandaged hand. “Be careful, okay? Don’t let anyone bump into this.”
“Charlotte! Charlotte! Charlotte!”
Kingswood University’s students shouted her name, cheering and waving. Even people just passing by and anyone who’d followed the competition online started snapping photos. Charlotte was the pride of Eldoria now, someone who’d go down in the country’s medical history.
The whole scene was wilder than the arrival of any celebrity.
Off to the side, Letty watched from under her hat, eyes full of envy and resentment as she stared at the spotlight that used to belong to her. Her gaze grew colder.
Thief.
She wasn’t about to let Charlotte off that easily.
Letty bit her lip, ready to slip away, when suddenly someone in the crowd shouted, “Letty!”
“What? Letty’s here too?”
