The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 745

All ten of those papers tackled illnesses that had stumped experts for years. When they showed up, so many problems suddenly had answers. That’s why every med student basically had two idols. One was Asclepius. The other was Black.

Their research was legendary. Students and researchers at every major university had pored over those studies until the pages were practically falling apart. But both of them were oddly mysterious. You could hunt online all day and still find nothing about them, except for their research. No personal info. No social media. Nothing.

Now Lloyd was saying Black was Charlotte? That was just... beyond crazy. The whole place erupted in whispers, the shock rippling through the crowd and up onto the stage.

Letty’s mind went completely blank. She stared at Charlotte, her heart pounding so hard she could barely breathe. The research she’d been working on for two years—wasn’t it Black’s papers that Lydia had told her to read? And now she was supposed to believe that Black was actually Charlotte? That just couldn’t be true.

Lydia was struggling, too. She kept thinking maybe she’d misheard, or maybe Lloyd had finally lost it. How could he possibly think that a brand-new freshman was Black?

“Lloyd, what did you just say?” Lydia pressed, unwilling to let it go.

Lloyd’s face darkened, his voice cold. “Lydia, are you going deaf in your old age, or do you just not know enough to recognize Black when you see her?”

He turned to the rest of the audience. “And as for the perfect score,” he said, his voice rising, “it would be far more surprising if she didn’t get a perfect score.”

Charlotte pressed her lips together and tapped quickly on the screen. In just a few seconds, her latest paper was online.

Black’s newest research appeared on the website live, right in front of everyone. The time and title matched the event exactly.

So it was true. Charlotte really was Black.

Lydia had gone on and on about how Black was her idol. Now she was the one insisting that Charlotte must have cheated.
