"Lottie, we meet again."
Ignoring the agonizing pain in her left arm, Tansy forced a smile onto her pale face as she held her father hostage. "Don't be afraid. I've already taken care of the timer on your brother's leg."
Charlotte stared at her in stunned silence, the sheer shock of the moment leaving her entirely speechless.
"Tansy, what do you think you're doing?!"
Seeing his own daughter pointing a gun at him, The Overlord roared, his face livid.
The guards outside instantly raised their weapons, aiming them squarely at The Overlord's Daughter.
But without an explicit order from him, no one dared to pull the trigger.
"Let Donald and Lottie go."
Tansy tightened her grip on the gun, her voice freezing over. "Or perhaps you'd like to consider, Father, whether you value your life or your money more."
If he was dead.
He wouldn't exactly be able to spend it.
"You're threatening me?"
Faced with his daughter's rebellion, The Overlord let out a dark chuckle, his voice rasping. "Do you really think you can threaten me?"
"Try me, Father!"
Tansy shifted her position closer to Charlotte and shot a glacial glare at the guards in the doorway. "Bring Donald here! Now!"
The guards glanced nervously at The Overlord, refusing to move without his permission.
"I said now!"
Tansy ignored everything else. She cocked the gun, her trembling finger hovering dangerously close to the trigger.
The Overlord's face darkened like thunder. Just as he was about to speak, a gunshot echoed from the corridor.
Moments later, Donald appeared in the doorway, holding a gun and entirely surrounded by a ring of heavily armed guards.
Seeing him arrive completely unharmed, a radiant smile broke through Tansy's tears. "Long time no see, Donald," she choked out.
Donald stared at her bloodless face and the crimson soaking through her sleeve. The temperature around him plummeted.
"Father, prepare a boat and let them leave."
Refusing to waste another second, Tansy issued a cold command. "You know perfectly well that when it comes to Donald, I will risk absolutely everything."
"Prepare the boat!"
Seeing the guards remain motionless, Tansy was on the verge of breaking down.
As long as her son was sent away and Donald and his sister were safe, whatever happened to her next...
Didn't matter.
Her life should have ended a long time ago anyway.
"Tansy, did you honestly think I would set up a board this massive only to repeat the same mistake? To let you threaten me exactly like you did four years ago?"
The Overlord let out a chilling laugh that echoed ominously through the room.
"Tansy, you vastly underestimate me." The moment his words faded, a group of guards marched into the room, dragging Elena and Hector with them.
"Hector!"
Staring at the son who was supposed to be safely escaping on a boat, Tansy's pupils dilated in absolute horror, her composure finally shattering.
It turned out.
Hector was the foolproof guarantee her father had mentioned.
