"I..."
Anthony offered a helpless smile. Just as he was about to explain, his wife stepped into the operating room.
The heavy doors of the surgical suite sealed shut.
The procedure was scheduled to take about two hours.
With roughly thirty minutes left on the clock, Anthony politely excused himself, turned around, and headed downstairs.
"Anthony, it's freezing outside. Just send a bodyguard to buy it."
Nora spoke up, feeling slightly bad. "Don't spoil her too much."
"It's fine, Mom." Anthony smiled faintly and replied with complete respect, "The bodyguards don't know her exact taste."
The sweetness level, the toppings—she had very strict requirements.
His girl was carrying two babies. She had every right to be a little high-maintenance right now.
Silence fell.
Nora opened her mouth, completely out of arguments.
This son-in-law of hers was truly beyond reproach.
Two hours later.
The surgical lights clicked off, and the double doors swung open.
The medical staff wheeled Roger out.
"The surgery was a complete success."
Charlotte pulled down her mask, scanning the crowd. Not seeing Anthony anywhere, she frowned slightly. "Take my brother to his room first. He needs to be monitored for the next forty-eight hours."
"Okay."
Stella nodded obediently. Before leaving, she leaned close to Charlotte's ear and whispered, "The boss went out to buy your milk tea."
"He went himself?"
Charlotte's frown deepened as she glanced at the window.
In this freezing weather, with the wind howling like that...
"Yeah."
Stella nodded, putting on a deadpan face as she joked, "He was probably terrified of sleeping on the couch tonight."
She paused.
