The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1883

"Could we send them straight to daycare the moment they're born?"

"Sure!"

Charlotte didn't even hesitate. She raised a brow, her answer dripping with cool amusement and a hint of mischief. "As long as you can bear to part with them."

Anthony paused.

Why would he struggle to part with two brats?

Boys were tough. They needed to experience the world early on so they could grow up strong and protect their mother.

Seeing his brimming confidence, Charlotte forced back a laugh.

"No problem." Leaning forward, she placed a soft kiss on his jawline, a wicked smirk playing on her lips. "Whatever you say."

The next morning.

After finishing breakfast, Charlotte sat in her chair, resting her chin in her hands as she watched Anthony pack her bag.

"Pack more of those peach candies. Stella loves them."

"Alright."

Anthony grabbed another handful of sweets and tossed them in. Zipping the bag shut, he glanced up at Hans. "Bring the car around."

"Right away, Anthony."

Hans eyed the bag but wisely kept his mouth shut.

Charlotte had always hated people touching her things. No matter how exhausted Anthony was, he always carried her belongings himself.

"Just hang in there for a few more days. The break is almost here."

Noticing her lethargic mood, Anthony gently ruffled her hair. "Hold my hand, alright?" he coaxed softly.

"Okay."

"No!"

Sensing her displeasure, Wallace panicked, his voice trembling as he scrambled to explain. "I've already severely reprimanded Vinson. He wrote a formal apology, and he guarantees that from now on—"

"As long as he's around, The Cabinda University's medical school has no future." Charlotte cut him off coldly, her patience wearing thin. "Vinson is your protégé. You know exactly what kind of man he is far better than I do."

Wallace gripped his phone tightly, unable to utter a word.

"The medical department didn't become famous because he was appointed dean," Charlotte added coolly. "But he has always looked down on the Traditional Medicine program. Otherwise, he wouldn't have blatantly stocked the department with cheap, dysfunctional equipment."

"He..."

Wallace was utterly shell-shocked, his lips trembling. "Asclepius, I swear I had no idea about this."

The Department of Education and the university had allocated more than enough funding. There was absolutely no reason to purchase outdated medical devices.

"There are a lot of things you don't know, Wallace." A cynical smirk tugged at the corner of Charlotte's mouth. "Let me put it this way. If I'm going to head the Traditional Medicine program, I need full support across the board. Can you guarantee that Vinson won't sabotage my teaching down the line?"
