"The real Asclepius... is me."
Her light, unhurried voice echoed through every corner of the venue.
In an instant, the room fell dead silent. Everyone's gaze snapped from Queenie straight to Charlotte.
Eyes widened in collective shock, faces painted with disbelief, confusion, and raw skepticism.
"She..." The smile on Vinson's face froze instantly. He whipped his head toward Glenn, looking completely dazed. "What kind of nonsense is she spouting?"
Glenn felt like he'd been struck in the head. His heart hammered wildly against his ribs.
Why was Vinson looking at him?
He didn't know either!
But the way Charlotte claimed to be Asclepius didn't look like she was joking.
"What?"
Hearing this, Queenie's assistant shot to his feet, gasping for air. "She's Asclepius? How is that even possible!"
"How could Asclepius be a twenty-year-old college girl?"
"It's a lie. It has to be a lie!"
Queenie listened quietly to her assistant's frantic denials. Her round eyes stayed glued to Charlotte in absolute disbelief, practically shining.
Shocked.
But mostly, thrilled.
Asclepius...
Wasn't dead?
"This..."
The situation had spiraled completely out of control.
The senior members on the judging panel were so startled they could barely stay in their seats, rising to their feet on trembling legs.
The crowd listened, absolutely dumbfounded.
"Since Queenie brought them to light, I took a moment to correct them just now. Wouldn't want to mislead the public, after all."
As she spoke, she glanced toward the audience.
In the corner, a man opened his laptop, his long, elegant fingers flying across the keyboard.
In less than ten seconds.
The venue's system was overridden. The two reports Charlotte had modified appeared flawlessly on the massive screen.
The structure was rigorous, the content far more comprehensive.
Placed side-by-side with the originals, anyone with half a brain in the industry could instantly tell which was superior.
Whispers erupted across the room.
Before this new data appeared, they had all thought the fake Asclepius's research was so brilliant it was completely out of their league.
