The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1849

During the weekend.

Charlotte stayed indoors. While she rested, she took the opportunity to prepare her lesson plans for the traditional medicine class.

"Open."

Anthony stayed home with her, occasionally feeding her bites of food to keep her comfortable and relaxed.

Charlotte accepted a piece of fruit and glanced at Anthony, who had just finished a workout. She frowned slightly. "You seem unusually obsessed with working out lately."

He was going at it like a madman. Even before heading to the corporation in the morning, he made sure to get up early for a run.

Anthony hummed a low note in agreement, deliberately tugging at his collar to expose his firm, well-defined chest for her to admire.

He personally thought the results were quite spectacular.

"Oh."

Charlotte chewed her fruit, her gaze flicking over his chest. Her long, feathery lashes fluttered, showing an utter lack of interest.

"What's with that look?"

Seeing her lackluster reaction, Anthony knitted his thick brows together and asked huskily, "Not impressed?"

"Once you've seen it enough times, it's just whatever."

Charlotte immediately averted her eyes, feigning indifference as she casually resumed typing on her keyboard.

Just whatever?

Did that imply she wasn't attracted to him anymore?

"Is that so?"

Noting her slightly flustered demeanor, Anthony leaned in, caging her securely in his arms. His voice was a seductive rumble. "You made a typo, Charlotte."

"Oh."

Charlotte blinked, keeping her mouth firmly shut.

She absolutely refused to be swayed so easily.

"The transition between these paragraphs is a mess, too," Anthony whispered, his lips grazing her earlobe as he spoke. "What are you so nervous about, Mrs. Blair?"

His warm breath fanned across her sensitive skin, entirely by design.

Pregnancy already made her incredibly sensitive...

"I'm not."

"Once I have these babies..."

Charlotte reached back, smacking a hand against his solid chest. She glared at him with hazy, half-lidded eyes, her voice rough. "Anthony, I'm going to beat you up."

She was definitely going to win next time.

"Alright."

Anthony chuckled, thoroughly amused. Unable to resist, he kissed the corners of her reddened eyes, his tone still heavily raspy. "I'll let you beat me. You can do whatever you want to me."

"Just wait."

Satisfied with his promise, Charlotte let out a soft yawn, closed her eyes, and slowly drifted off to sleep.

Watching her sleep so peacefully, Anthony's heart melted into a puddle.

He sat on the edge of the bed, staring at her unblinkingly, as if he could never get enough.

Even though they were married, he still felt this lingering, overwhelming fear of losing her.

Ten years.

The age gap between them was undeniable.
