The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1512

Kenneth lifted his gaze slowly, looking at the two people in the back seat. He tried to smile, but his voice came out rough. “Emily’s phone password... is it my birthday?”

Charlotte and Anthony just stared back, their eyes heavy with meaning.

Kenneth refused to give in. He tried the password again.

It unlocked.

It really was his birthday.

But he and Emily had only just made things official on the plane today. He hadn’t seen her touch her phone settings, hadn’t seen her change anything at all. The thought of his birthday being her password, and the looks Charlotte and Anthony shared, sent a jolt through his chest. It felt like something long hidden was about to spill out—something he hadn’t wanted to face.

He said nothing. He just took a slow, shaky breath and tapped his finger to open her memos.

[Kenneth’s concert at the end of the month, promo schedule, fan support...]

The list stretched out forever, right there in front of him, overwhelming and unexpected.

She wrote this memo a whole month ago—and it was all about him?

Was “baby” meant for him too…?

Kenneth didn’t even realize he was zoning out until his finger slid across the screen and opened the photo gallery by accident.

His own face stared back at him.

There must have been thousands of photos, all of them him—pictures from every era, different looks, candid shots and glossy promo pics, tucked neatly in album after album.

His face turned ghostly pale. He hurried out of the gallery and clicked open her Twitter, needing proof that maybe, somehow, he’d gotten this all wrong.

But the account that popped up belonged to the head of his worldwide fan club.

Kenneth just stood there, numb.

His ears rang. Bits and pieces of memories replayed in his mind—those early years, when Emily had so many better offers, but she still chose Apex Mediaworks. She’d started from the bottom, taking the tiniest roles. He remembered thinking she was crazy for it. He’d even scolded her, told her she was wasting her time.

Looking back now… She hadn’t been foolish, not at all. She just wanted to be close to him, whatever it cost.

He swallowed hard. “What about the ex-boyfriend?” His words were shaky, like he wasn’t sure they’d come out at all.

“Ex-boyfriend?” Charlotte looked at him for a long moment. Her mouth twisted into a sad smile. “Kenneth, don’t you get it? There was never anyone else. Emily’s only ever liked you.”

Ten years, and she’d never changed.

Kenneth’s whole body locked up, his heart pounding so loud he could barely think.

Only one thing echoed in his mind, over and over—Emily’s been in love with you for ten years. The person she likes has always been you.
