“If you’re not acting, then what are you planning to do?”
“Study abroad.” Anywhere was fine, as long as she never had to see him again. Out of sight, the feelings would fade with time.
“Alright, I respect your decision.” Pam ran her fingers gently through Emily’s hair, her eyes full of sympathy. Emily really had been through too much.

Elsewhere, Charlotte woke up from her afternoon nap right as a document popped up from the project team.
[J, here’s the main cast list for Storm. Please review.]
Lead Actress: Emily
Lead Actor: Kenneth (Pending)
Pending? What was going on with Kenneth?
Charlotte scowled, pulled up Kenneth’s social media, and fired off a blunt message. [One minute. Yes or no. If you’re not in, I’m getting someone else.]
Kenneth’s mood soured the second he read it. He was starting to feel something—something more than just friendship—toward Emily. The worst part? She still cared about another man. Being near her, he was afraid those feelings would just keep growing until he couldn’t control himself anymore. He might even end up doing something wild, like stealing her away.
Charlotte must’ve sensed his hesitation, because a handful of photos landed in his inbox.
[These guys are pretty great. Tall, good-looking, amazing bodies. And they’d pair well with Emily.]
The veins in Kenneth’s temples pulsed. Seriously? She knew her stuff. Every single one of them was exactly Emily’s type.
Emily was fresh off a breakup. If one of these guys appeared now, there was a good chance she’d move on from him fast. If it wasn’t Kenneth, it’d be someone else. Maybe even someone who’d hurt her. Emily was so naïve, she wouldn’t even realize until she’d already been fooled.
Well… that part was on purpose. It was just to rile up Kenneth.
“Were they nice to look at?”
With the atmosphere getting heavier, Charlotte gave a nervous little lick of her lips. Yeah, honestly, they were. Good bodies, easy on the eyes. She couldn’t blame girls for getting flustered.
“Hmm?” Anthony pressed.
Charlotte pulled a face, feigning seriousness. “Not as nice as yours.”
He raised a brow. “How would you know? How long has it been since you had a proper look to compare?”
Before she could answer, Anthony carefully wrapped his arms around her, mindful of her baby bump, and swept her up bridal-style. Leaning close to her ear, his voice was low and teasing, “Come on. Let’s go to the bedroom. I’ll give you plenty of time to check again.”
