The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1353

Kenneth went silent, grumbling under his breath. “Do you really think I’d buy that?”

Charlotte pressed her lips together. She’d just managed to settle her stomach, but hearing Kenneth’s voice brought the nausea rushing back.

Kenneth was confused for a second.

“Whatever, forget it,” he snapped. He noticed something was off with Charlotte, let out a few curses, and hung up.

The call ended. Anthony walked over with a glass of water. He helped Charlotte sit up, pulling her gently into his arms, then held the glass to her lips so she could sip.

“You’ve been working so much lately. A little break will do you good,” Anthony said. He wiped a stray drop of water from the corner of her mouth, his eyes lingering on her soft, glistening lips. He leaned in and kissed her lightly. “Do you want to go? I’ll come with you.”

“What time is it?” Charlotte mumbled, eyes still closed.

“Seven tonight.”

“Alright,” she replied, yawning. “Invite Shirley and the others too.”

It had been ages since they’d all hung out together. Plus, Shirley was still Kenneth’s number one fan.

“I’ll set it up,” Anthony said. He ruffled Charlotte’s hair, his hand resting on her waist, his fingers brushing against her stomach. “If you start feeling sick, tell me right away.”

For the next couple of weeks, he’d have to keep a close watch on how the antidote worked in her system. If things went really wrong, they couldn’t risk keeping both babies.

The days passed quickly.

Kenneth’s concert was set for the International Convention Center, a huge place that could fit at least ten thousand people.

When Shirley got her ticket, she was over the moon. She showed up at the entrance super early, practically bouncing with excitement.

A few minutes later, a low-key sports car pulled up. The doors opened. Out stepped a tall couple, both wearing hats, masks, and matching trench coats.

“Charlotte,” someone called.

The four friends straightened up instantly and greeted her.

Charlotte nodded at them, her reply soft.

Once they’d said hello to Charlotte, their gazes shifted to Anthony. He scanned the group with cool, unreadable eyes, then pulled Charlotte closer by the waist. “Let’s head in,” he said quietly.

Kenneth’s star power was on full display. As soon as tickets went on sale, they sold out in half an hour. The entire center was packed, not an empty seat in sight. The entrance was swarming with fans.

With how striking Anthony and Charlotte looked, it was impossible for them to go unnoticed in a crowd like that.
