The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1346

That was an actual gunfight.

Word was, Charlotte had taken down a bunch of people herself. If she hadn’t stopped halfway through, half the folks in that room might not have made it out alive.

“It’s not my first time. They’re used to it,” Charlotte said, cheeks tinged with a rosy blush, her voice easy and relaxed.

G5’s lips twitched. He was left speechless. Charlotte was just like her grandmother, no doubt about it.

“So, do you want a boy or a girl?” G5 asked, pulling his hand back with a gentle smile.

In the corner, Anthony’s grip tightened even more.

“Doesn’t matter to me,” Charlotte answered, as casually as if she were picking out lettuce at the store.

G5 let out a helpless little laugh. He was about to tell her the gender, thinking it might make her happy, but then he caught sight of Anthony across the room, looking nervous and tense.

From the way Anthony had been acting like a lovesick puppy lately, G5 figured he probably wasn’t hoping for a son.

“That’s right,” G5 agreed, still smiling softly. “Boys or girls, both are great.”

Charlotte caught the look, and her eyes narrowed slightly. Then she shot Anthony a sly smile, her lips curving up playfully.

It would be another month and a half before they could even guess the babies’ gender by feel. She’d been so caught up in the whole antidote mess, she’d nearly forgotten she was carrying two little ones.

But with G5 acting like this… things had to be a bit complicated.

“G5.”

Anthony walked over and gave G5 a polite bow, all respectful and formal.

He couldn’t have looked less thrilled.

“That’s… good,” Anthony managed after a long pause, his voice rough as he tried to convince himself. “When they grow up, they can protect you.”

Charlotte grinned and leaned over, kissing him softly at the corner of his mouth. “It’d be great if they looked like you.”

Anthony felt his heart clench. He grabbed her hand tighter, his face a bit pale. “Don’t say that.”

“Hm?” Charlotte blinked up at him, barely containing her laughter.

“You two better take after your mom, you hear me?” He pressed his palm gently over her belly, trying to look stern but not hiding how bothered he was. “Otherwise, you’re not getting any special treatment in this house.”

Charlotte cuddled into his arms, finally letting out a peal of laughter. “When you’re old, they’re going to pull your oxygen tube, you know.”
