The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1076

Charlotte curled her lips in a mocking smile. “Just a pretty boy. Looks like he’d snap in half if the wind blew too hard,” she said, her voice cool and sharp.

Jackson and Adonis exchanged glances, both at a loss for words.

The next morning, sunlight barely filtered through the curtains when someone from the lab came to find her.

“Asclepius, Mr. Allanson wants to see you.”

What could Allanson want with her this early?

“Charlotte, I heard Allanson stayed in the lab all night,” Jackson explained, glancing at her.

“Can a genetic mutation really make you live longer?” Adonis chimed in, brows furrowed. “Feels like Allanson’s taking this way too seriously.”

Charlotte didn’t answer. She slipped on her mask, shot the brothers a quick look, and lowered her voice. “You two go ahead.”

“Charlotte, are you sure you’ll be safe?”

“I will be, as long as you two don’t get in my way.”

With that, Charlotte strode out, her steps steady and sure.

Jackson and Adonis just stared at each other, totally confused.

Inside the lab, Allanson stood by the microscope, dressed in his white coat. Aloys, Marcia, and G2 hovered behind him.

He heard the footsteps and immediately guessed who had arrived.

Without looking up, Allanson spoke. “All of you, out.”

“Yes, sir.”

The three nodded and slipped out, but Marcia paused when she passed Charlotte. She studied the rebellious look on “his” face, her suspicion growing stronger. Asclepius felt so familiar. If she didn’t know everything about her father’s past, she might have wondered if Asclepius was his secret child.

Charlotte didn’t bother with them. She walked right up, checked over the equipment, and said flatly, “Five milliliters of iodine solution.”
