The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 81

Abigail reached out and forcefully pulled me closer to her. That condescending attitude made me feel uneasy inside. The pressure was so intense that it took a lot of courage just to lift my head to look at her.

"You are mine. You must do whatever I say!"

Abigail's gaze was icy as she warned me, "Let me make it clear: to me, you're worth less than a single hair on Joshua's head."

I couldn't help but laugh at her words and nodded deliberately. "True, you're right. I can't compare. So, why did you call me here instead of bringing your little lover Joshua with you?"

My words seemed to strike a deep nerve in Abigail.

Her lips trembled for a moment, but she didn't say a word.

I looked at her calmly, feeling a sense of satisfaction. In the past, I would just endure her insults and mistreatment without retaliating. But now, I no longer wanted to be a dog she could bully.

It was clear that she was dissatisfied with my reaction. Her gaze was filled with fury as she snapped, "What did you say? Repeat that!"

She took a step toward me, grabbing my hand angrily.

I coldly shook her off and scoffed. "If your hearing is bad, you should go to the hospital instead of wasting my time here."

With that, I turned around and walked away without looking back. Behind me, she was so angry she stomped her foot. She yelled at my back, "Samuel, don't you dare forget your promise! Otherwise, I have a thousand ways to make you suffer!"

I didn't respond and simply walked out of the company's main entrance. I donated every penny of the money Abigail gave me to the hospital where my sister's friends were being treated.

She was elegantly dressed, and when she looked at me, she didn't come off as pretentious at all; instead, she smiled and struck up a conversation. After introducing ourselves, I learned her name was Rebecca Sims.

As our conversation flowed, she couldn't help but laugh and ask, "Aren't you curious why I specifically requested to meet you?"

I chuckled and said, "I can guess."

Given the rumors about me and Abigail circulating online, it was likely that she had heard about me and wanted to meet in person. But to my surprise, she shook her head and sighed, "Actually, our experiences are quite similar."

"My husband… is also that kind of person."
