Did Belinda know about my plans to divorce Abigail and come to humiliate and berate me on purpose? I was already fed up with the insults from both of them. I stared coldly at her and asked nonchalantly, "What brings you to my humble abode?"
Belinda looked shocked, clearly not expecting me to respond like that. Her expression darkened as she clenched her teeth in anger. "If you weren't such a useless coward who couldn't keep Abigail's heart, we wouldn't be facing such rumors!"
I shook my head and replied calmly, "Belinda, I've decided to divorce Abigail. It's her who refuses to let go. Given how influential you are, you must know that I'm seriously ill and don't have long to live, right?"
Upon hearing this, she scoffed and glanced at me dismissively. "Yeah, I know, so what? Let me tell you, when you were shamelessly pursuing Abigail, I didn't stop it because you somehow made her so devoted to you that she even threatened to kill herself!
"I felt sorry for her, so I let it go. But now, even if you want a divorce, you need to clear Abigail's mess first. Do you understand?"
"Mess?" I was stunned by her words. I couldn't help but ask in disbelief, "Are you talking about Joshua?"
"Otherwise?" she shouted, her voice rising as she glared at me. "If it weren't for you, would Abigail even be with another man?"
"Do you know what people in this circle say about our family? This is all your fault!"
I closed the door quietly, my gaze calm, not bothering to say another word. It seemed I really needed to leave this place first. Ever since they discovered where I lived, it felt like I was on display, with them showing up to insult me whenever they pleased.
I didn't want to waste my limited time on such trivial matters. It would be best to move to another city and wait for Abigail to figure things out before proceeding with the divorce.
However, a call from Hanson changed my mind. After meeting at the cocktail party, he had been trying to talk to me but hadn't found the right moment until now.
When I arrived at the private room, he greeted me with a smile and gestured for me to sit down. "Samuel, I thought of hiring you to be the chief designer for the branch office. What do you think?"
