Abigail always had a habit of making everything public whenever things didn't go her way. I didn't want to have anything to do with her anymore.
I was relieved when Abigail left. Finally, I could have my own space to rest well, and no one would bother me. This was exactly what I had wanted for some time, but she was so clingy that it made it hard for me to get rid of her.
I was about to get up and head to my room when I saw Jane come back with the vegetables.
When she saw me, she immediately smiled at me and said, "Mr. Gebb, you're up."
I nodded at her and replied, "Yes, I woke up early today. Have you finished your errands? Why are you back so soon?"
Jane waved her hand at me and said, "Actually, it's nothing. My granddaughter fell and had to go to the hospital. Seeing that she was fine, I came back."
Jane put the vegetables in the refrigerator and suddenly sighed when she saw the food on the dining table that was barely touched. "Mrs. Gebb actually cares about you very much," she said.
"She cares about me?"
Jane's words made me chuckle.
As far as I could remember, ever since I was with Abigail, I had experienced endless torment, humiliation, and harassment.
When I realized this, I couldn't help but laugh bitterly.
"Actually, couples can work things out. If there's a problem, just talk it out. My husband and I have been fighting for years, but we always make up."
Jane smiled and advised me, but she didn't understand that the problems between me and Abigail were not as simple as they seemed.
If we were just an ordinary loving couple, we could reconcile easily after a fight, but it wasn't the same for us. There were too many problems between us.
Besides, Abigail had hidden agendas when she approached me from the beginning. We should have broken up a long time ago.
