The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 291

The more Abigail spoke, the redder her eyes became.

Her gaze was filled with tenderness. Though her voice trembled with emotion, it carried a mix of affection and longing. It was clear she was deeply moved.

"Samuel, I really don't want to drag things out anymore. Let's just live our lives properly from now on, okay?"

Abigail grasped my hand and pressed it against her face. She looked up at me, and her eyes were brimming with affection.

I wasn't sure how to respond to Abigail. I could only stand there and stare at her in a daze.

Abigail took a deep breath and slowly leaned closer to me. Her eyes lit up with delight after seeing that I wasn't pulling away. Her gaze grew even softer as she reached out to wrap her arms around my neck.

"Samuel, everything I'm saying to you today comes straight from my heart. I'm being completely sincere."

I hesitated for a moment before attempting to respond. "Abigail, actually, I—"

But before I could finish, she placed her hand over my mouth. "I know what you're about to say, Samuel, but I don't want to hear it right now."

She gently tugged at my hand, her smile soft as she said, "You being here with me right now is the greatest comfort I could ask for."

Silence settled between us. Her gaze grew more intense, tinged with a subtle allure, as she leaned closer. Her lips met mine in a slow, deliberate kiss.

It had been so long since I'd seen this tender side of Abigail. Before I realized it, I found myself yielding to her. I didn't resist. I didn't pull away. I let it happen.

Even after it was over, I was still in a daze. My mind struggled to process what had just happened. I never thought I'd find myself swept up in the storm of Abigail's love once again.

We stared at each other in silence.

Abigail's sincerity touched me. A warmth I hadn't felt in a long time began to seep into my heart. The fragile hope I'd tried to push away only moments ago began to take root and grow slowly but steadily.

My breathing grew shallow. A wild, reckless thought surged through my mind.

Maybe, just maybe, Abigail and I could return to what we once had.

I tried to let that thought settle. I pulled Abigail into a firm embrace and said gently, "Abigail, broken mirrors don't truly mend. I don't know how long it will take for us to find our way back into each other's hearts."

Abigail shook her head. She softly said, "Don't be afraid, Samuel. I believe we still have a chance to get back to where we once were. Let's hold on to that hope, okay?"
