The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 275

I had no idea how to persuade Abigail. She had always been like this—once she made up her mind, no one could change it.

All I could do was remain calm and silent. At home, she always had the final say. No matter what I said, it would just be a waste of breath and wouldn't change anything.

True to her decision, Abigail had been staying at home with me these past few days and didn't go to work.

I felt so uncomfortable and needed to get away from her to get some air, so I told her that I wanted to visit Lana. I wanted to see how she was recovering from her surgery and if she was feeling better.

Abigail had told me before that she didn't like the smell of disinfectant and didn't like going to the hospital unless absolutely necessary.

Naturally, I assumed she would stay at home and wouldn't come with me. However, to my surprise, she insisted on coming.

I quickly dismissed her with a wave of my hand and wanted to reject her. "There's no need for you to stay with me all the time. We're independent adults, and we can manage things on our own. We don't have to be together all the time."

I tried to be as polite as possible, but Abigail continued to pester me and remained persistent.

"I know what you're thinking," she said seriously, "but it doesn't matter. I believe that if I spend more time with you, you'll change your mind about me and see that I'm sincere."

For a moment, I was at a loss for words.

"Fine." I relented. "If you want to go with me, then let's go."

I didn't continue to reject Abigail's request because I knew that if I kept turning her down, she would find an excuse to follow me anyway. Since talking was pointless, I didn't want to waste my breath.

Abigail was slightly surprised, but she quickly smiled back as she approached Lana. She took out the toys and said, "Look, I've bought you some toys. Do you like them?"

Lana's eyes lit up when she took the toys. She held the toys happily, as if they were precious treasures. Nodding eagerly at Abigail, she replied, "Yes, I like them. Thank you, Abigail."

Lana really knew how to make people feel good.

I didn't know if Abigail had finally come to her senses or if she had truly changed. Her eyes were filled with joy as she hugged Lana.

"Lana, be good and obedient, okay?" she said gently. "Focus on getting better. Once you recover, I'll bring you to play at the park. How does that sound?"
