The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 235

Blair chuckled sheepishly and hurriedly explained to me, "Don't… Don't get me wrong. Samuel, I'm just really worried about you. Can you please not overthink this?"

I frowned and looked at her standing in the doorway, shaking my head lightly. "I'm sorry, but it's hard not to overthink when you're acting like this."

I stared at her with a calm expression and continued coldly, "Haven't I made it clear to you already? I'm fine. You don't need to keep worrying about me, and I won't feel indebted to you for it. Blair, I don't know what you're thinking, but I can assure you that I only think of you as a friend, nothing more."

After I said that, I could clearly see the hurt in her eyes as she looked at me, seemingly trying to say something. But when she met my gaze, words seemed to have failed her.

I added calmly, "If you hope to be more than just friends, then I'm afraid we won't even be able to remain friends."

I was very straightforward with my words.

After hearing them, Blair stared at me, her eyes red and teary. She said, "Samuel, I don't know what I've done wrong to make you dislike me so much…"

I shook my head lightly and replied with a calm expression, "Blair, please don't get me wrong. You did nothing wrong. It's just that the feelings between Abigail and me are still unresolved. We haven't completely ended things yet."

After hearing my explanation, Blair's eyes suddenly brightened as if she had found a lifeline. She looked at me excitedly and said, "Samuel, if that's the issue, I can wait!"

I frowned slightly, but it seemed to have escaped her notice.

Perhaps all of this was a mistake from the very beginning.

I'd already experienced a failed marriage. Should I escape the frying pan just to jump into the fire?

Blair looked at me with reddened eyes. She bit her lip, then asked, "Samuel, why must you deny and shut out your emotions? I know you don't really want this. You deserve your own life! Are you really happy? Are you really content to spend your entire life imprisoned by Abigail in this place?"

"That's enough! Stop talking!" I shouted.

I then gave her a stern look and asked, almost begging, "Can you please leave?"
