The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 229

Abigail's hands froze abruptly. She stared at me with an incredulous look, as if she were looking at a stranger, and asked, "What did you say?"

I grabbed the hand she was using to unbutton my shirt and asked calmly again, "Do you even remember what it was like when we were in love?"

She fell silent, seemingly trying to recall how things were between us in the past.

After all these years, the only feeling remaining that she had for me was probably hatred. She only wished to torment me. Her unwillingness to let go was just so that I couldn't escape her grasp so easily.

It seemed her greatest pleasure in life was to make my life a living hell. I had long since realized it but hadn't bothered to say anything.

Initially, I thought Abigail would eventually realize that she had no feelings for me anymore. Yet, she stubbornly refused to face reality, continuing her relentless attempts to torment me.

Back then, I loved her deeply. If it weren't for that incident, perhaps we would already have a lovely child together, living a happy and fulfilling life.

Her grip on me slowly loosened, and she turned around to leave without hesitation. I also caught a fleeting glimpse of what seemed like tears in the corners of her eyes.

For some reason, seeing that made my heart ache for her, if only for a brief moment.

After she left, she disappeared and was uncontactable for some time. Even Joshua seemed to have vanished without a trace, not contacting me at all.

Just then, Sophia suddenly sought me out. She was just like a gossip-loving paparazzo who would always inform me of any news involving Abigail and Joshua.

Today, she told me something that rocked the entire entertainment industry. Abigail and Joshua had been spotted entering a hotel together.

Sophia told me that the paparazzi had captured photos of the scene, which were now spreading across the internet like wildfire.

Normally, if Abigail didn't want others to find out, she would've taken action to curb the news immediately. But this time, she did nothing.

More importantly, she had actually taken Joshua to an auto show. Apparently, after some enthusiastic recommendations from the salesperson, Abigail had spent a fortune and bought Joshua the latest model Lamborghini.
