The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 195

For some reason, the moment I saw Sophia's expression, my heart sank. I stared at her in shock and asked, "You mean… Joshua's up to something again?"

I couldn't think of any other possibility. Sophia wouldn't have asked me that way unless it had something to do with him. After all, I was already used to Joshua constantly pushing my limits.

If it got to the point where Sophia would bring it up, it had to mean that Joshua had stirred up something particularly humiliating for me online.

Sophia took a deep breath as if she'd been preparing herself for a while before she said, "Samuel, the argument you and Abigail had with Blair outside that day was posted online."

"What?" I was stunned.

Honestly, I should have seen this coming. But since I hadn't seen anything online until now, I thought the whole matter had blown over.

What I didn't expect was that even Sophia had found out about it. It seemed like things had gone beyond what I had imagined.

I asked hesitantly, "Where did you see it?"

Looking a little awkward, Sophia scratched her head and tried to comfort me. "It was on the front page of the news. But don't worry, Samuel. They posted the news at night. It was only up for five minutes before it got taken down."

Sophia couldn't help but guess in a hushed voice. She said, "I'm guessing…"

"Did Abigail hire some PR to take it down?"

Then she chuckled. "Actually, this is the kind of thing Abigail is best at. I bet all those previous incidents were her doing too. Having it removed from the trending topics? Classic move."

Thus, I replied calmly, "I'm out with Sophia."

"Sophia?" The moment she heard that familiar name, her tone grew colder.

Her voice took on a mocking edge laced with displeasure. "Samuel, you really have a knack for getting under my skin, don't you? You know perfectly well about the grudge between me and Sophia. Why would you go meet with her in private?"

I replied coolly, "Don't get the wrong idea. Like me, Sophia is also an employee of Mr. Jigman. She's my assistant, and we're only meeting to handle work matters."

"Work matters, huh?" Abigail let out a short, chilly laugh. "Fine. Then you can come home tonight and explain to me exactly what kind of work you two were handling!"
