The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 182

There was a time when Abigail's greatest joy was dragging me along to attend various banquets.

There were always plenty of her friends at these banquets. They each fawned over her and were eager to ingratiate themselves with her.

Their attitudes toward me had also turned increasingly vile after seeing her publicly humiliate me.

Ethan Crowley had once made me drink to the point of getting a stomach ulcer.

Aria Hawthorne had instructed me to clean the soles of her shoes with my shirt.

Tobias Greystone had stepped on me as if I were a rug.

They doused me in red wine and hit me with bottles, treating me as a target for their wanton cruelty and abuse!

A chill ran down my spine and left me feeling despair as I recalled everything that had happened. I couldn't shake the feeling that my life had lost all meaning, and a part of me wished it would all just end.

Today, Abigail declared herself as my wife and claimed her visit to see me was only natural. She claimed she wasn't trying to intimidate me on Joshua's behalf but simply wanted to bring me food so I could have a proper meal.

However, was that really the truth?

Her purpose of bringing me to those banquets was all too clear now.

I sneered and marveled at how ruthless and cunning she could be. Her greatest skill lay in employing these insidious methods to humiliate me and demean me without leaving a trace.

Yet, I was utterly powerless to resist her. I could only comply with her demands. After all, it was what we agreed to.

She didn't notice my sour expression and said gently, "They're all my good friends. You don't need to feel nervous. We've met with them a few times before, haven't we?"

I heard that he thrived overseas as well. He had become the CEO of Nimbus Corporation and amassed a fortune worth billions. I had no idea what heights he had reached now.

What I feared most about him in the past was his relentless pursuit of Abigail. I was nothing but worthless to him. I was just a nobody with no status or influence.

Yet, someone like me had won Abigail's heart over him. He had held grudges against me ever since.

Now that he was back, could it mean that Abigail had a new plan to deal with me?

Was she planning to use Tom to get under my skin?

I detested Tom. I wanted nothing to do with him or Blair. All I desired was to live my life in peace.

Hence, I shook my head faintly and rejected her without hesitation. "Forget it. I'm not interested."
