The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 168

I only laughed scornfully on hearing that.

There was an emergency meeting that she had to attend? It was more likely that the only person Abigail would be meeting with was Joshua.

I had already lost count of the number of times something like this had happened. Every single time, the moment Joshua needed her, she would immediately appear by his side.

Abigail didn't care about my feelings. She only cared about whomever she was willing to care for. Even if she got mad at Joshua, as long as he begged for forgiveness and cozied up to her, her heart would immediately go out to him.

I'm already used to this. However, the fact that she would still deliberately make appearances before me to remind me of her existence disgusted me.

Then, she would use Joshua to give me a huge metaphorical slap that would pull me out of my fantasies and thrust me back into reality. To make it clear to me that she didn't care for me at all.

Abigail's enjoyment stemmed from torturing and humiliating me. She only cared for herself. She would never spare another thought for me.

I gave strict instructions to inform me immediately if anything happened to Lana before I returned home. The events that occurred today had been too upsetting.

After returning home, I desperately needed some time to clear my head properly. I laid down on the bed. Without noticing how much time had passed, I finally fell asleep.

Then, I heard some faint noises, which annoyed me as I was still feeling sleepy. The next moment, I felt like someone was putting a blanket over me.

I opened my eyes to see that it was Abigail. She had returned.

She was looking at me with a gentle gaze filled with passion, as if I was someone she loved deeply.

She continued, "The condition for my agreement was that you would stay at home and not go out for work. But then you kept avoiding me. Every time you see me, you're always impatient and annoyed."

Abigail's tone grew more angry with increasing irritation as she spoke. She looked at me sternly as she said coldly, "Samuel, I really don't understand. Just how long are you going to keep avoiding me? We are husband and wife; we're a couple. Why can't you be more honest with me?"

I snorted with laughter at Abigail's words.

She frowned and looked at me, upset. "What are you laughing at?"

I smiled and shook my head. "Oh, Abigail. So you still remember that we're husband and wife? Then have you ever considered that with all the things that you did, which one of them can prove that we're husband and wife? Right now, everyone believes that the one who is actually your husband is Joshua."
