The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 121

As Abigail talked about her past with Joshua, her eyes were filled with admiration and approval.

She said gently, "His persistence, optimism, and unwavering commitment to life deeply inspired me. He was my spiritual support during those difficult times and my hope for a better future. Without him, I wouldn't have been able to persevere back then.

"Later, he was blacklisted by the company for saying the wrong thing. No production teams wanted to hire him, not even as an extra. He was shut out completely.

"So, I reached out to him and invested in him. I introduced him to some roles and helped him find some mentors so that he could improve his acting."

Abigail's gaze turned softer as she spoke. It was as if Joshua was the light in her heart, illuminating her life's path.

I watched Abigail silently, remaining silent as she reminisced.

Meanwhile, she pulled over a chair and sat down facing me, saying with a smile, "But don't worry. I won't divorce you for Joshua. In my heart, you'll always be my husband."

I didn't want to entangle myself further in these matters with Abigail. After all, these issues no longer mattered to me.

After a moment of silence, I said cautiously, "Abigail, the children are innocent. I hope you can be rational and not take out our grievances on them. Can you do that?"

Abigail's eyes showed a hint of anger after my interruption. However, it quickly turned into a look of mockery as she glared at me defiantly.

"Is that so? But I don't even know them. How do their lives or deaths have anything to do with me?" Abigail scoffed.

"I'm willing to invest, but only if it benefits me and brings returns. If there's no return, why should I keep investing?" I responded.

She reached out and grabbed my wrist, then looked at me with a scrutinizing gaze.

And now, she had the audacity to accuse me of being reckless?

I stood up abruptly and walked right up to her, taking off my jacket.

"What are you doing?" Abigail stared at me warily, as if I were some kind of monster.

I took off my shirt and grabbed her hand while saying softly, "Since this is what you want me to do to make you help them, then why waste time talking? Let's get straight to the point and save any unnecessary delays."

Just as I leaned closer, Abigail suddenly pushed me away with all her strength, as if she had lost her mind.

She breathed laboriously and pointed at me angrily as she scolded, "Samuel, you're utterly shameless!"
