The Man in Power After Being Married into Her Family novel Chapter 5991

"Yup, he's calling me." Charlie nodded at the buzz-cut man. "See ya."

"Are they releasing you now?" The buzz-cut man blurted with a disappointed expression on his face. "But you just got in."

The officer looked at the buzz-cut man and announced in a flat tone, "He's being transferred to Brooklyn Prison."

"What?!" The buzz-cut man yelped in shock and jolted. He then shouted toward Charlie's back, "Bro, what did you do?! Did you kill someone? I heard that American prisons are worse than hell. You’d better be careful!"

"Don't worry." Charlie waved his hand without looking back. "Goodbye."

The officer took Charlie to a quiet corner of the office area and whispered, "We've already taken the fast-track procedure and will send you to Brooklyn Prison soon. I have an informant there. His name is Leandro, a Brazilian. He is a know-it-all about Brooklyn Prison. You can go to him when you get there and ask him about the situation in the prison. Just tell him that Andrew introduced you, and he'll do everything to help you."

"Got it." Charlie nodded gently, figuring that the officer should be a member of the intelligence network under the Fox family. A prominent family like the Foxes would spend a lot of manpower and material resources to establish their own intelligence network in the United States as far as Congress, the police department, and major government agencies.

Moreover, for its own security and confidentiality, the intelligence network was divided into several levels, with the upper levels controlling downward and the lower levels serving upward. Bypassing levels to command or report was strictly prohibited, and sensitive information must be isolated level by level.

Sometimes, only the people at the top level would know that they were working for the Fox family. None of those in the lower levels would know that they were part of the Fox family's intelligence network. By doing it this way, the intelligence network could be guaranteed to be safe and secure.

When he stepped foot in the prison area, he realized that the prison was dirtier and worse than a refugee camp.

Unlike in American movies and TV dramas, there was no cell ensuite with a toilet where two men shared a cell. In fact, prisoners of all races were crammed into one big cell like sardines, and the only furniture in the cell was dozens of beds.

As Charlie slowly walked to his cell, all the cells he passed were extremely noisy. Some prisoners yelled and whistled through the iron bars as they watched the newcomers walking in, beating the iron bars with blankets and shouting something like "rookie". Some perverted men shouted obscene words when they saw the smooth-skinned and delicate Charlie.

Charlie walked along with an expressionless face, taking note of all the people shouting at him, especially the perverted bastards who were making him sick. He muttered under his breath in disgust, "This shitty place needs to be cleaned up."
