The Man in Power After Being Married into Her Family novel Chapter 5935

Charlie frowned and said, “There are nearly a hundred of you, so how could you let these five bastards strut around Oskiatown?”

Daves said ashamedly, “Mr. Wade, these five people are backed by the Burning Angels, and the Burning Angels have the Italians, who actually control dozens of large and small gangs in New York with a scale of at least a few thousand people backing them up. We're simply not their match at all…”

Charlie said coldly, “So what if there are thousands of them? I've never heard of a gang fight involving thousands of people in the United States. Can they bring thousands of people into Oskiatown?”

Daves said awkwardly, “Mr. Wade, you don't know this, but these people are extremely ruthless. They've openly and covertly killed several of our core members of the Oskian gang. My subordinates are all scared, and all of them have backed down one after the other.”

Charlie asked him, “How many of your men have the Burning Angels killed?”

Daves blurted out, “They've killed eleven of my men!”

Charlie furrowed his brows and asked again, “How many of them have you killed?”

Daves shook his head dejectedly. “None…”

With that said, Daves hurriedly explained, “We're just a minority ethnic gang in New York after all, so we can't compete with these locals. Therefore, we didn't intend to fight them from the onset, and they've also warned us that if we dare to lay a finger on their men, they will kill ten of us for each one of them.”

Charlie furrowed his brows again and said, “What's wrong with being a minority ethnic gang? Korean, Vietnamese, and Algerian gangs are also composed of minority ethnic groups. Are they being chased away by the Burning Angels like you are?”

Daves dodged Charlie's sharp gaze and stammered, “I… I haven't heard of any conflicts between them and the Burning Angels yet…”

Charlie pointed to the five men and asked Daves, “Have you ever wondered why these people dare not bully the Korean or Vietnamese gangs but came to bully you instead?”

Daves felt ashamed and pursed his lips with his head lowered.

Daves was mentally on the verge of breaking down under Charlie's relentless questioning.

These past few days, Daves had been tortured by guilt. His subordinates kept getting into trouble one after another, and he himself had almost died. But as the leader, he had never been able to muster the courage to fight the Burning Angels to the end, all because of his initial fear. As a result, the Burning Angels became even more rampant, killing several key members of the Oskian gang in succession, completely breaking the morale of the entire gang.

These days, Daves was filled with regret. He regretted not having the courage to confront the Burning Angels from the beginning. If he had fought them to the end at the time, perhaps they would have backed off, and so many of his subordinates wouldn't have lost their lives.

As Daves thought of this, the remorse and self-blame overwhelmed him, and tears welled up in his eyes as he sobbed and said, “It's all my fault, I'm too weak. I only thought that if we couldn't afford to offend them, it would be better for us to retreat, but I didn't expect that when we retreated, they would force us to keep retreating and still refuse to stop even when we were backed up to the edge of the cliff. It’s already too late for me to realize this now as my subordinates who are dead can never come back…”

Charlie looked at him and said lightly, “It's not too late for you to realize it now.”

With that said, Charlie loaded the magazine into the pistol and then handed it to him, saying, “There are five bullets in it. If you have truly come to a realization, think about how Clinston died and think about how to avenge him!”
