Vera could guess the meaning behind the abbess's words, so she asked, “Master, are you saying that Master Marcius Stark’s ability to be reborn depends entirely on Mr. Wade?”
The abbess said noncommittally, “I have already said too much. Please digest some of these questions on your own but remember not to let Mr. Wade know about these things.”
When Vera saw that the abbess didn't want to say more, she quickly asked, “Master, do you have any other instructions?”
The abbess clasped her hands together respectfully and said, “No. I have heard of you for a long time, Miss Lavor. Seeing you today has fulfilled a wish of mine. Mr. Wade is still waiting at the foot of the mountain, so you should go down the mountain quickly and persuade him to return to Aurous Hill.”
Vera, unwilling to give up, hastily asked, “Master, what should Mr. Wade do next? If he can't move forward today, I'm afraid Mr. Wade will be in trouble. Where should Mr. Wade go from here? Please tell me!”
The abbess's expression became very conflicted for a moment. After hesitating for a long time, she said, “Please instruct Mr. Wade to find an opportunity to activate his pineal gland as soon as possible. He will only be able to barely fight against Fleur by activating his pineal gland.”
Vera was even more puzzled about the abbess's identity. She couldn't understand why the abbess seemed to know everything about Charlie, even down to whether Charlie had activated his pineal gland.
Vera wanted to ask her more questions, but the abbess had already pushed open the main door of the hall and shouted outside, “Judy, see the guest off.”
The young nun who had brought Vera here came out from the side hall and respectfully said to Vera, “Miss Lavor, this way, please.”
Vera could only nod helplessly, look at the abbess, and say, “Thank you, Master, for your guidance.”
The abbess nodded slightly with a smile and said, “Amitabha, take care, Miss Lavor.”
Vera bid farewell to the abbess and followed the young nun out of the main gate of Quiant Monastery.
The young nun named Judy said, “Miss Lavor, you can head down the mountain the same way you came. I won't be accompanying you.”
Charlie looked surprised and asked, “How did they know where we were going?”
Vera nodded lightly and explained, “I think that the abbess isn't a bad person. There must be dangers ahead that we haven't thought of…”
As she spoke, she looked at Charlie and pleaded, “Young Master, let's not continue moving forward. Let's return to Aurous Hill, okay?”
“Return to Aurous Hill?” Charlie frowned and said seriously, “We are probably only a few dozen miles away from where Marcius used to cultivate. My parents may have been here before, and they might have taken the Preface to the Apocalyptic Book from among his belongings. If I continue walking these few dozen miles, I might be able to find out more about their lives. How can I give up halfway?”
With that said, Charlie turned to Vera and said, “Miss Lavor, why don't you go back to the town and wait for me? I'll go by myself!”
“Absolutely not!” Vera instinctively grabbed Charlie's hand and begged, “Young Master, since we already know that Master Marcius Stark’s resting place is not far from here, this trip won't be in vain. You can return to Aurous Hill and continue to prepare. It's not too late for you to come back after your strength has increased greatly!”
