A middle-aged man in a green shirt then came in with a resounding pace. This man’s clothes and appearance were the same as in the portrait of Marcius, but he looked a little younger than Marcius was depicted in the portrait.
Charlie could conclude that this person was Marcius.
Marcius paused in front of the three paintings for a long time and then looked at the old self-portrait of Fumiko’s ancestor on the right before he sighed and said, “You’re already gone... Micah, if you could have waited for me for three more days, I would have been able to fulfill my promise to you, then. Now that you’re gone, I should give this opportunity to your son, but I’m extremely disappointed with his words and actions. So, I’m not going to pass on this opportunity to him.”
After saying that, he stretched out his hand and tapped on his portrait gently as he murmured, “I’ll leave the memory of this matter behind in this painting. Your descendants will know the reason after your descendants blame me in the future and tear up my portrait. You must not blame me after I meet and reunite with you in the afterlife.”
With that said, he turned around and disappeared into the night in style.
The images also came to an abrupt end at this point.
Charlie was immersed in shock at this kind of event that transcended time and space. It took him a long time to come back to his senses.
When he came back to his senses, he marveled at Marcius’s ability to leave his thoughts in the painting and also could not help but feel sorry for the tragic fate of the descendants of the Jenson family.
There was no doubt that Marcius must have achieved longevity when he returned to that small mountain village.
However, Charlie could conclude that the ‘longevity’ Marcius achieved would not exceed the limit of two hundred years. It was by no means immortality.
Charlie could be so certain because after he had mastered the Apocalyptic Book, he could argue from the perspective of an insider. In fact, there was no real sense of immortality, and one could only live a little longer compared to others.
Charlie could not help but feel that the descendants of the Jenson family had really good tempers. They were still waiting for Marcius to appear, up to Lady Jenson’s generation, even after waiting for more than a thousand years.
If there was a person with a bad temper that could not be patient and wait any longer, he would probably have found out the reason after tearing up Marcius’s portrait.
However, sometimes, everything was up to fate. The Jenson family could not wait for this result, but Charlie had discovered it by accident.
At the same time, Charlie also thought to himself, ‘I wonder what method Marcius found to make his lifespan exceed the upper limit of two hundred years old? I wonder how many years he lived up to in the end. Wouldn’t he be more than a thousand and four hundred years old if he lived up to today?’
As Charlie thought of this, he shook his head and said firmly, “It’s impossible for anyone in this world to live to be a thousand and four hundred years old. I believe that Master Marcius must already be buried somewhere!”
