Quinn did not expect that Janus would be interested in the charity dinner and so, she didn't hesitate to smile and say, "Uncle Janus, come with us tonight if you're interested!"

Janus nodded and smiled as he said," Okay. Miss Golding, I would not be causing any trouble for you, right?"

Quinn shook her head and said, "Why would you? They invited me as a guest and so, they will have to accommodate me."

Janus sighed and said, "That's good... To be honest, the last time I attended a charity dinner was twenty or thirty years ago in Hong Kong. I have never attended such an occasion ever since I came to the United States. So, today would be the right time for me to go and gain some experience."

Charlie had no doubts about Janus’ words.

Moreover, he had not asked Quinn about the details of this auction carefully and so, he did not feel that anything was strange at all. His acumen in details was indeed quite inferior and less sensitive as compared to Janus.

After eating, Quinn and Charlie simply stayed at Janus' small restaurant.

The three of them talked a lot on the second floor, which also allowed Charlie to hear a lot of things related to his parents from Janus.

At six o'clock in the evening, a series of crisp footsteps sounded, and Dorothy, who

was dressed in a professional suit, ran up the staircase quickly.

As soon as she came up, she said to Quinn," Quinn, Mr. Wade, it's almost time for us to leave."

Quinn nodded and said to Janus, "Uncle Janus, let's go."

Due to the shortage of manpower today, Fisher, the person-in-charge, had sourced twenty temporary workers to help out for the event. The experienced staff was transferred over to the front to serve the guests, and the inexperienced ones would stay in the back to do the miscellaneous odd jobs.

This was also the usual hotel routine and s o, no one felt that anything was wrong.

At 6.30 pm, Quinn's convoy drove into The Palace Hotel. The convoy was then guided b y the staff as it drove into the VIP channel o f the ballroom.

The VIP channel was located at the back of the ballroom which was not open to other guests so that it could better protect the privacy of the VIPs.

After the convoy had stopped, the American bodyguard in charge of driving spoke to Dorothy, who was in the passenger seat, "Miss Chan, please wait inside the car for a moment. We need to get out first for the security and safety confirmation." Dorothy nodded. After that, more than twenty bodyguards wearing bulletproof vests got out of the front and back cars simultaneously.

These people were true professionals in their field, and they blocked off the two ends of the convoy and conducted an exhaustive security check on the left and right sides as soon as they got out of the car.
