"New York?!” Charlie was shocked beyond belief.
He received information that Finley had also escaped to New York, but how could h e have expected that Quinn would also come to New York?
Concerned, he immediately asked, "Nana, wasn't your itinerary set long ago? Why are you making such a big change at the last minute?"
Quinn grinned cheekily and said, "I know you're in Providence. That place is very close to New York, isn't it?"
Charlie was surprised once again. "How did you know that?"
I asked someone else!" Quinn said. "I spoke to Chairman Cameron from Shangri-La, and he told me that you went to the United States to accompany Claire to study."
Quinn pretended to be angry and said, "I was originally planning to go to Aurous Hill to surprise you. I called Chairman Cameron to ask for his cooperation, only to find out that you’re no longer in Aurous Hill. Brother Charlie, why didn’t you tell me that you were going to the United States?"
Charlie replied awkwardly, "Isn't it all because I didn't want to bother you? Anyway, I didn't come to the United States t o have fun. I’m accompanying your sister-i n-law, who's attending school here."
Quinn pursed her lips and grumbled, "Ugh! You shouldn't have said that. I've never admitted to her being my sister-in-law! In fact, I'll never admit to anyone being my
sister-in-law. I'm the only one who can be your wife!”
Charlie sighed, helpless. He said gently, " Okay, okay. It's my fault. I should've told you before I left. I won’t do it again, okay?”
"That's more like it." Quinn was satisfied with his reply. She hummed twice, happy, before exclaiming, "I'll forgive you this time!”
Charlie rubbed the bridge of his nose in exasperation. "Nana, you still haven't told m e why you suddenly decided to change your performance schedule."
States?'
Quinn replied, "I've been preparing in the last two days. I'll probably be rushing over there as soon as I’m done with my work here. I think I'll depart around a week later, or maybe ten days at the latest. The repertoire, choreography, and equipment needed for the North American tour are all the same. Anyway, things are still pretty messy and can get confusing. I need to spend more time on on-site debugging and rehearsal to set the standard for the whole tour. That way, the later performances will be much easier on me.”
According to Quinn, she would be flying to the United States within seven to ten days. Her first destination was definitely New York. At this, Charlie couldn't stop the worry growing in him.
Finley had already gone to New York, and Charlie's intuition told him that Finley had a lot of associates or clients in New York.
During Charlie's plane ride, he pondered how he would lay out a big net in New York to trap Finley along with the latter's superiors and subordinates; from the big fishes to the small shrimps, Charlie wanted all caught and cleaned up completely.
Since Charlie intended to lay out such a big net, he naturally needed a certain amount o f time to make preparations. He shouldn't close his trap too soon.
