Andre hurriedly took the thick stack of documents Charlie threw at him and carefully flipped through it.
After reading a few pages, the corners of his mouth curled into a delighted grin. His flattering expression from before returned a s he looked at Charlie with an oily smile." Why, Mr. Wade! You really are an extraordinary man! You're even doing business in Vancouver. This cargo ship is secondhand, but it still costs twenty million US dollars. That's not cheap!"
Charlie was indifferent. "It's only a fifteen thousand ton cargo ship. It's nothing!"
Then, Charlie growled impatiently, "Stop spewing nonsense. How much money can this cargo ship be offset for? Give me a number."
Andre was actively brainstorming the best outcome.
His gang often transported contraband in and out of Canada by sea.
Due to their lack of financial strength and resources, they didn’t have their own cargo ship. Thus, they were always borrowing cargo ships from other parties to transport their goods.
As they were handling illegal dealings, borrowing cargo ships was very costly. Sometimes, it would even account for more than 30% of the overall cost!
Andre dreamt of owning a cargo ship, but the heavy price tag was completely out of his reach.
Now Charlie had appeared, taking the initiative to send Andre the ship he had always dreamt of. What luck!
If Andre didn't seize this opportunity, he'd hit himself over the head for missing out o n such a golden ticket. This was a Godgiven chance!
His first thought was to make Charlie lose again. The more that Charlie lost, the better it would be for Andre. In fact, it’d be best if h e could make Charlie lose to the point Charlie gave up the cargo ship. Wouldn't he be getting the cargo ship for free?
He soon came to a decision. His mind made, he said to Charlie, "Mr. Wade. Since your cargo ship was traded for twenty million US dollars, I can give you at least fifteen million Canadian dollars as mortgage. How much do you need?"
He bet large amounts, even going so far as betting two to three hundred thousand Canadian dollars in one hand.
In under half an hour, he lost the two million Canadian dollars' worth of chips
When Andre saw the annoyed look on Charlie's face, he couldn’t stop grinning gleefully. "Mr. Wade, it seems your gambling luck tonight isn't very good. I was about to give up on that last round, but I realized that your trump card can't defeat mine!”
Charlie gritted his teeth and cursed loudly,' Damn it! I can’t believe this!"
He turned Gopher and barked coldly, "Bring me another two million Canadian dollars!’
Andre was quick to remind Charlie, “Mr. Wade, that'll be four million Canadian dollars!"
