Charlie looked at the elderly man lying weakly before him. He then introduced himself with a polite smile, "Nice to meet you, Lord Fox. I'm Charlie Wade."
Jordan could feel a bit of strength in his body. He seemed slightly stronger than before, so he tried to get up, though not without some struggle. When he finally managed to stand, he wanted to bow to Charlie. However, Charlie extended his arm and stopped him from doing so.
"Lord Fox, you're still weak. You don’t need t o bow to me."
Jordan, however, felt very indebted. "Mr. Wade, I've heard of your greatness. To think I could finally meet you today...
Thank you for saving me! Had it not been for your help, I’d probably be dead already
Charlie waved his hand in dismissal. He glanced at Kathleen next to Jordan and said, "You should thank your granddaughter. If I didn’t owe her a favor, I wouldn't have involved myself in this."
Charlie then added, "By the way, you should also thank Old Master Lennard for helping you."
Jordan nodded lightly. He turned to Kathleen with teary eyes.
The two could only look at each other as they began to sob, crying bitter tears.
After that, Jordan turned to Chandler and sighed softly. "Chandler, I’m sorry I've made you worry."
Chandler quickly answered, "Why are you apologizing to me? Besides, I didn’t help much. Mr. Wade and Kathleen were the ones who helped."
Jordan nodded weakly and turned to Charlie again. His eyes full of tears, he said in a tone of deep gratitude, "Mr. Wade, I'll remember your kindness. Unfortunately, I'm in deep trouble now, and I may not be able to repay your kindness. I hope you don't mind..."
Jordan knew that from this moment onward, he would be left with almost nothing.
He still had some funds in his personal account, but it was nothing as compared to the giant that was the Fox family's wealth. Now, most of the Fox family's wealth had nothing to do with him.
"Christian Acker?!"
Charlie was stunned to hear that name. In his memory, he had three uncles from the Acker family. His eldest uncle was Christian Acker, his second uncle was Kaeden Acker, and his youngest uncle was Jaxson Acker.
He also had an aunt named Lulu Acker.
Charlie had only met his three uncles and aunt a handful of times. However, he remembered their names because they left a strong impression on him, for they were all inspired by Oskia's legendary works.
His mother's name, Ashley, was inspired b y the Records of the Grand Historian.
Meanwhile, his uncles and aunt's name were all inspired by the Classic of Poetry. His eldest uncle's name, Christian, was inspired by a poem's title while his second uncle’s name, Kaeden, was inspired by a poem's line in the Classic of Poetry.
His third uncle's name, Jaxson, was inspired by one of the poems. Meanwhile, his youngest aunt’s name, Lulu, was inspired by one of the poem’s first lines in the Classic of Poetry.
