Todd had only taken a quarter of the Rejuvenating Pill for a few seconds.
Already, he could regain his senses and feel the warmth of his body. This was proof that the pill was effective and could cure his paraplegia.
Todd’s joy did not last for long, however. Immediately after, waves of intense pain spread throughout his body.
Todd’s screams of joy turned into howls of pain, the sound such that many jumped in fright. His whole body was in great pain, but it couldn't be compared to the pain attacking his limbs.
As he had suffered from muscle atrophy for too long, it had led to this excruciating pain. But as muscle atrophy stemmed from paralysis, the paralyzed patient wouldn't b e able to sense any pain, and that included the pain from muscle atrophy.
The Rejuvenating Pill had healed Todd starting from his nervous system. Now that he was able to feel again, the severe pain transmitted by his nervous system to his brain was hurting him greatly. It was so painful, he felt like dying.
He didn't understand the pain, either. After all, his doctor had never informed him about the pain that might arise from muscle atrophy.
In all honesty, the doctor couldn't bear to share that information with Todd. To the doctor, telling Todd about the pain associated with muscle atrophy was akin t o telling a blind man the bright sun outside would hurt his eyes. It was disrespectful to the disabled.
Thus, Todd thought his pain happened because something had gone wrong with the Rejuvenating Pill.
He subconsciously reached out to pull up his sleeves and pants. He wanted to see why his limbs were in such intense pain.
By doing that, the crowd in the hall had a good view of his limbs.
His limbs were extremely skinny, looking just like four thin wooden sticks. They were very much out of proportion with the rest of his body.
At this moment, the crowd gasped and shouted in astonishment. The whole hall fell into chaos.
Immediately after, they burst into heated murmurs.
They could understand the Rejuvenating Pill's effect when it came to curing Parkinson's disease. Perhaps the pill was a good medicine to heal the nervous systems. After all, Parkinson's disease mainly arose due to the impairment of nerve cells in an area of the brain.
Thus, they could understand why the pill could heal paraplegia. Paraplegia would only occur when the brain stopped sending signals to the body, preventing the body from moving.
Parkinson's disease and paraplegia mainly differed due to the cause. Parkinson's disease would occur when one’s nervous system was naturally impaired. However, paraplegia occurred when one's spinal cord or brain suffered from injuries caused by external forces.
However, they couldn't understand how the pill rejuvenated Todd's sickly limbs. Todd's limbs were thin sticks at first, but they instantly became normal again in the blink of an eye. How on earth did that happen?!
