Early the next morning, Charlie was planning to bid farewell to Quinn's family and then take a taxi to the airport but unexpectedly, Yule insisted on personally driving him to the airport.
Rachel and Quinn were both accompanying them.
Charlie didn't want to trouble them and waste their precious time but they insisted and it was difficult for him to reject their hospitality, so he agreed.
Yule was driving his Rolls-Royce with Rachel sitting a t the passenger seat, while Charlie and Quinn were both seated in the back seat.
Quinn was feeling a little depressed but since her parents were in the car, she tried to refrain from speaking. She looked as if there was a lot on her mind.
As the outline of the airport was within sight, Quinn built up some courage to reach out her hand to grab Charlie’s hand and gave it a little squeeze.
Charlie turned his head and saw Quinn looking back a t him with a stubborn and resentful stare. He couldn't help but feel a little sense of guilt building up within him.
As the Rolls-Royce stopped steadily at the departure gate. Charlie gently pulled his hand out of Quinn's grasp and said to all three of them, "Uncle Yule, Aunt Rachel, and Nana, I think it's best that all of you stay i
n the car. The airport is very crowded and it would be a hassle if someone were to recognize you and it’s especially so for Nana, since you're a public figure."
Quin immediately replied, "I can put on my mask!"
Rachel chipped in, "It's alright Nana. Even if you were t o put on a face mask, you can only send Charlie to the security check counter, which isn't a far walk from here, so don’t take the risk."
Yule nodded and said, "Yeah, let’s not cause more trouble for your Brother Charlie.”
"Okay..." Quinn nodded slightly. She looked at Charlie and said, "Brother Charlie, remember to inform me once you've boarded the plane and inform me when you've landed safely.”
Charlie smiled and replied, "Don't worry. I will keep you posted."
After saying that, Charlie got out of the car and took a small luggage bag from the trunk of the car. He then waved goodbye to Yule's family of three through the car window, turned and walked into the airport.
As soon as he entered the airport, he received a call from Doreen. "Charlie, are you at the airport?"
Charlie replied, "I'm here, going through the security check.”
Charlie took advantage of the spare time to do some shopping at the airport mall.
Due to Charlie's lack of interest in material possessions in his daily life, he found it very difficult t o pick the perfect gift for his wife and mother-in-law. s
With the thought that women of all ages would like bags, Charlie immediately walked into a Hermes store.
The price range of Hermes bags was very wide, with the cheaper ones starting off at around a hundred thousand dollars while their high-end products even reaching millions of dollars, s
As Charlie was a little underdressed, the salesperson i n the shop was a little dismissive towards him.
Although she did not say anything rude to him, her attitude was simply arrogant. 2
Charlie did not really pay much attention to her. After looking around the store for a bit, Charlie saw a luxurious crocodile skin bag on the glass showcase panel which piqued his interest. The handbag was Hermes classic orange in color. The leather texture was perfect and elegant, and it could be used for any settings be it casual or business. 4
Charlie greeted the salesperson and asked. "Hello, I would like this bag. Could you please wrap this up for me?"
