The Lycan King and his Dark Temptation novel Chapter 357

NARRATOR

Drakomir jumped off the horse right away, took off his helmet, and handed it to his aide.

“Celine, did something happen while I was gone?” He took the stairs two at a time, worry on his face.

“Nothing that won’t be solved with a good bath and formal clothes,” his mother-in-law answered with a smile that hid some secret.

Drakomir frowned; beside him, Drakkar was already striding past with his usual blunt, rough temper.

“Hey, Drakkar, hold it right there!” Celine stopped his hurried march.

“What’s going on? I need to find Lyra… I don’t feel her close,” Drakkar was getting impatient.

He’d agreed to go on this fake trip because Lyra kept insisting over and over, to the point of making him a little suspicious.

But in the end he always gave in to his persuasive woman’s wishes.

“Lyra is fine, and if you don’t stop, I won’t tell you where she is.” With those words, Celine had his full attention.

Soon she had two massive hulks in front of her, staring fixedly at her.

“Today is both of your weddings,” she dropped without much preamble. Time was pressing.

“What!?” Drakomir roared before he could help it. “Damn it, sorry for scaring you, it’s just… what do you mean wedding? Wasn’t it Rousse’s engagement?”

“Don’t you want to marry my daughter after marking her?” Celine’s eyebrow lifted a touch.

She even looked funny with that rounded belly, hands on her waist, facing down those two savages who looked like cousins.

“You know I love Victoria more than my life; of course I want to marry her, but it surprised me…”

“Lyra’s marrying me!” Drakkar cut in, grabbing Celine’s hands, happiness floating in those dark eyes.

“Yes, Drakkar, she wanted to surprise you,” Celine didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at the crushing squeeze on her fingers.

“Go up to your room and take a good bath, come on, someone’s going to help you with your outfi...hey!”

He didn’t even let her finish before he ran off like a madman toward his room.

Celine stayed there laughing, taking in his wild getup and wondering if the tunic would fit over those weathered muscles.

“That’s how a groom should react,” she turned to Drakomir, but seeing his dopey face, she understood this male was up in the clouds too.

“Vicky’s going to marry me…” he repeated like an idiot.

Even when it was a mere formality, because under their races’ law they were already life mates.

“Let’s get you dressed too, my dear son-in-law, because it looks like lightning just struck you.”

Celine took him by the arm and dragged him toward his room.

Neither Drakomir nor Drakkar had a mother or father to help them on their special day.

“I will. I’ll always watch over you, even if we live on my wild continent. You are Ly—”

“We are your parents now too, Drakkar.” Sigrid reached out and held her son-in-law’s rough hand.

“All of Lyra’s family is yours as well. I’ll be your new mother, and you can count on me forever.”

The Selenia’s intense, sincere blue eyes locked onto Drakkar’s, cutting straight to the core.

He lowered his head for a second, flooded with complex feelings.

Few people in his life had given him true love.

Without an identity, rejected and pushed aside among savages who didn’t know his true worth.

And not necessarily the gods’ power, but that of his pure, noble, innocent, and beautiful soul.

“Thank you.” His rough voice resonated, tasting the bliss of mortals.

He looked at Sigrid’s emotional face as she wiped away a treacherous tear.

“Well, I’d better stop crying; I still have a lot to do today. Go change behind the screen; we’ll see if anything needs adjusting.”

Drakkar nodded and let himself be guided.

He experienced a mother’s warmth, and he never missed that feeling again, because he would always have it close to him.
