Vivian was worried about her brother, and Sasha was worried about her son too.

She came to his room a moment later. “Are you all right, Little Ian?”

“I'm all right, Mommy.” Ian was sitting in his chair, staring outside the window. He looked depressed, but the moment he saw his mother, he cheered himself up and said he was fine.

Sasha was heartbroken seeing her son like that. She came in and took a chair, then she sat down beside him.

She started talking to him gently, “Don't feel sad about it, Little Ian. Duncan didn't betray you. He just didn't have a choice. In the end, he told you the real reason your father fell sick, and he even found the black stone for us.”

She had learned psychology before to treat Sebastian's illness, so she knew exactly why her son was sad. He couldn't accept the fact that his longtime friend would betray his trust and their friendship.

Vivian and Matteo blanched right away, and they didn't talk after that. All they could think about was Ian, who had been waiting in his room for three days.

If that was truly the case, then Ian would need to bear the responsibilities too. The whole reason Duncan managed to get into the military base was that he cracked the formula Ian gave him. It was the info on Eddie's research Sebastian gave Ian.
