I was stunned for a moment. After suppressing the disappointment in my heart. I took a taxi to work. It was a rare day without any messages from him harassing me to go back to him. 

When I got off work, it started pouring again. I waited for an hour before I could hail a taxi. 

Unexpectedly, the heavy rain affected visibility, and the driver couldn’t. see the traffic lights at an intersection. As a result, the taxi was hit by a car that charged out from the side and then flipped over on the spot.

It rang three times, but he didn’t answer. My tears mingled with the raindrops as I lost consciousness completely. When I woke up again, I found myself already in a ward, with Antonio pale–faced, guarding by my bedside. 

His chin was covered with bluish stubble, and he looked quite haggard. I closed my eyes directly, not wanting to look at him anymore. 

His expression became panicked, and his voice trembled as he said. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know you called because my phone was off. I just got here. Mandy was given a critically ill notice, and she said she wanted to see me 

one last time. so I…” 

“What does that have to do with me? We’ve broken up. so it’s your freedom to see whoever you want.” I replied. 

Perhaps I really deserved it. After such a miserable lesson. I could finally accept the fact that I never had a place in his heart. The pain from my broken ribs made my forehead bead with cold sweat as I breathed. 

He reached out to wipe it away for me, but I coldly said, “Get out. We’re done, and don’t appear in front of me again. Go back to Mandy.” 

Antonio finally realized that he was going to lose me forever.
