632.Chapter 632
“Raisa?” Eliza froze for a moment, then frowned and asked, “What are you doing here?”
Her eyes swept over Raisa’s outfit, which was unmistakably that of a palace consort.
“How dare you speak to Lady Raisa like that!” Mandy, noticing Eliza’s close relationship with the queen–her mistress’s rival -instinctively stepped forward to defend her mistress, her tone sharp.
But before she could finish, Diana’s gaze turned icy in an instant.
“Impudent! A mere maid dares to disrespect the Holy Lady? Someone, slap her!”
The senior maid serving Diana didn’t hesitate. At the queen’s command, she strode forward, raised her hand, and delivered a sharp slap to Mandy’s face.
“Slap! Slap! Slap!”
The crisp sound of three slaps left Mandy stunned. She instinctively turned to Raisa for help.
To her shock, Raisa remained motionless, letting out a soft chuckle. “Why are you looking at me? Didn’t you hear the queen? A mere maid who dares to insult the Holy Lady deserves punishment.”
Mandy’s heart sank. She wanted to protest, to say she was only standing up for her mistress. She didn’t understand why Raisa suddenly sided with the queen.
Her sense of injustice quickly turned to fear as Raisa’s next words sent a chill down her spine.
“You should be grateful to the queen. If it were up to me, you’d already be dead.” Raisa’s gaze shifted sideways, her eyes cold and brimming with murderous intent.
‘What a worthless fool. Keeping her around is a waste, she thought.
At this point, if Mandy still couldn’t understand that she had crossed Raisa’s line, then she truly was beyond saving.
Her face turned pale, and with a loud “thud,” she dropped to her knees, trembling all over as she pleaded, “Your Grace, please spare me! I won’t dare to do it again!”
“Raisa, if you want to discipline someone, take it back to Serenity Palace. Don’t bring your petty squabbles here,” Diana said coldly, her disdain evident as she shot Raisa a withering glance.
Eliza quickly grasped the tension between the two women, choosing to stay out of their quarrel.
She cast a brief glance at Raisa but didn’t waste a single word on her.
Though there was much she wished to discuss with Diana, now was clearly not the right moment.
After exchanging a few polite words of concern with Diana, Eliza succinctly reported the situation in Woteria to the king.
As for the details, Uncle Nolan will discuss them privately with the king later.
After hearing this, Magnus nodded in satisfaction and said, “Holy Lady of Walden, your compassion for the people is truly commendable. Time and again, you have prayed for blessings and provided relief during disasters, tirelessly dedicating yourself to the welfare of Bortenland. Your efforts han laft a daan imaoannion on both me and the citizens.
